Umm he held them to no runs there in the 1st and has been pretty dominant since. Hasn't allowed another hit while keeping his pitch count under control.
Probably won't last more than six after that 1st inning but he's getting it done once again.

Great. He threw 31 pitches to a shit lineup. Cannot do that against a good lineup. Pitches all over place. 78 pitches with one out in the 5th is not keeping his pitch count under control.

Wait, so he’s not perfect and like any other pitcher in baseball may not always have his best stuff? Yeah, let’s kill him!

Well I posted that before he pitched in the 5th and was really talking about how well he did in innings 2-4. At the end of 4 his pitch count was under control.
The 1st inning has been his trouble spot a lot this year but he's been much better there during this 8-0 stretch. I can't kill him for being off a bit early today and overall he's battled and pitched a good game. I'll take one run, three hits over five in a game where he's struggled early no question.
I hope for the best but really don't trust him after last years implosion. The tipping pitches stuff I am not sure about but I just hope his best is not behind him. Is he a pitcher or a thrower?
Remember Ubaldo Jimenez in 2010? At one point especially early in that year he was unbelievable. Ended year with 7.5 WAR? Has never ever come close to that type year again. Actually he has stunk since that Cinderella year.
Dellin and Gumby have been activated. The pitching troops are all coming back. Now we just have to get the wounded bats healthy.
That moment with Gleyber yesterday grabbing the back of his leg/knee was absolutely petrifying. I felt better seeing him whack the HR the next half and trot around the bases without a problem.
I figured they'd take him out after that to be safe with the big lead, so I wasn't super alarmed that they replaced him with Wade in the following inning... but of course, Edwin stayed in after he tweaked his oblique and also swatted a HR, so.. you never know.
I think Gley is alright, though. I expect the Yankees to be extremely cautious these last few weeks. It's definitely more important to have as many of our troops as possible come October than have home field. Obviously you'd love to get both... but I'll take health over home field if I have to choose.
Probably won't catch much of today's game with our GMEN playing at the same time, but hopefully we can turn in another W before heading home.
Been doing a lot of that recently which means he is guessing.

Yep. He's pitching tomorrow. So happy to have him back, along with Betances, who will be activated tomorrow. And then Sevy pitches Tuesday!
We're getting huge additions to our pitching (both starting rotation AND bullpen) at just the right time. Soooo exciting.
Yes
DAMN. He's been great. Hot at the right time, too.

3. Dodgers (96-54, .640)
4. Braves (93-57, .620)

You just love to see it.

Looking forward to seeing Severino on Tuesday. :)
