Need to bounce back today. deGrom’s the guy to do it. Lagares over Nimmo again is annoying. The splits just don’t bare out. Conforto out. LFGM!
And just so Jeffy can make a point...Ramos is catching
PhiPsi125 : 9/14/2019 6:03 pm : link
deGrom tonight, NOT Nido.

Love the Mets players...HATE everyone above.
And Ryu has been imploding for a while.
PhiPsi125 : 9/14/2019 6:04 pm : link
Why not put your best players out there? UGH!
Way to fight for the WC spot

Win or die, Mets
Yikes
KDubbs : 9/14/2019 6:21 pm : link
Braves player got a fastball right on the nose while squaring to bunt. Called a strike and braves manager went nuts
I totally forgot about expanded rosters
ChaChing : 9/14/2019 8:48 pm : link
and how that would relate to the Ramos catching issue

Yesterday was thinking there's 1 C on the bench. But w/ 3 having RR, there really was NO reason not to start w/ Nido and again have a quick hook (if LAD scored a bunch and you needed O). And STILL have a relevant C left as required (V formation probably should include Nido or RR when possible...)

I know most agree, and it's kinda pointless to discuss further unless they change their approach, but it just dawned on me looking at the loaded bench on screen a min ago
sorry 3 C total

2 on bench
Typical DeGrom start

Anemic offense.

Yes, but to be fair, Ryu is having a great season.
I probably start JDG in the 8th here w/ a short leash
ChaChing : 9/14/2019 9:05 pm : link
but I get it...high PC, had to work hard last inning
Jacob

NoDecision. Feel bad for this dude
101 pitches isn't a lot in do or die time

Ugh... You gotta be kidding me.

True, but in his last four starts he’s given up 3/7/7/4 runs...so I was hoping to continue that trend. No such luck.
It’s clear that the Mets stick to the 100ish pitch count
PhiPsi125 : 9/14/2019 9:18 pm : link
pretty religiously, right? Kinda ridiculous, especially with their bullpen.
One bad move after another...
ZGiants98 : 9/14/2019 9:23 pm : link
Double switch in Nimmo but take out one of your better hitters in Davis...

Dodgers correctly know how to use a LOOGY and go to Joe Smith to face the righties...

Mickey leaves Lagares in to face him with a bunch of lefties on the bench. Just schooled all the time.

With his endless fidgeting all season, now he's all conservative w/ a HUGE bench. And does the opposite of what makes sense nearly every time

Except when SPs are mowing batters down and in the 70s & 80s for PC. Then he likes to play L-R match-ups in the 6th or 7th and go BP

You know, like bringing Avilan in vs righties about then
Mickey, if you're trying to get fired this makes sense and we get it
ChaChing : 9/14/2019 9:32 pm : link
but just go ahead and resign

Wait WTF, you're trying to win!?!?
This is such a dick tease.

lol. Lowrie and Conforto on the bench. And to take Lugo out at 11 pitches.
all a trickle down because they didn't let deGrom pitch the 8th
ZGiants98 : 9/14/2019 9:37 pm : link
They would still have Lugo in reserve.
Big fucking hit!!!!
KDubbs : 9/14/2019 9:37 pm : link
Mickeys a genius
OK!!

LAD bullpen has been their weakness.
Would actually
Gmanfandan : 9/14/2019 9:42 pm : link
Like to see Familia or Diaz here and first baserunner (or run)
go to Wilson

I agree w/ you in theory, but in a playoff race w/ 14 left right here vs the best team, just win now. 3 runs is nothing, esp for the rest of this BP, even more vs LAD (as Gary states how they've only been shut out 5 times...)

All due respect, no way. Familia/Diaz have had their chances all season. Now it’s time to lean on the professionals.

Question
KDubbs : 9/14/2019 9:51 pm : link
Why the fuck did altherr stay on the roster over rajai? Such a betterplayer
Can we get some help from the damn Cardinals,
ZGiants98 : 9/14/2019 9:55 pm : link
Red Sox, and Reds tonight?? THANKS.

Rajai was hurt for a while.
So what do we all think of the Nationals right now?
Chris684 : 9/14/2019 10:14 pm : link
Any chance they slip enough and both spots are up for grabs?

Thats who we should be watching. Braves, cards, marlins, phillies, indians. Thats brutal except for the marlins
I’ve been watching them for awhile
Chris684 : 9/14/2019 10:20 pm : link
they were free and clear but have fallen back to a point that you can at least reasonably make the case.

That god damn blown bullpen game is still killing me.
Phils lose
ChaChing : 9/14/2019 10:31 pm : link
Brewers win
Nats lose
Cubs win
14 games left
spike : 9/14/2019 11:11 pm : link
They will probably need 10 more W's and pray the Nats or the Cubs go 7-7 or worse
Big win
Vanzetti : 9/15/2019 2:20 am : link
But they have to win on Sunday.

Buehler is tough but I think it will be s relief to see a rhp after Kershaw and Ryu.

Alonso, JD and Rosario all hit rhp just about the same as LHP. Ditto for McNeil. Ramos and Frazier are better against lefties but Cano
and Conforto mash rhp
Buehler not as good on road
5BowlsSoon : 9/15/2019 6:48 am : link
We should win this and the series. Losing this series to the Mets is a foreshadow of the Dodgers 0layoffs.
Gotta get 10 more wins
spike : 9/15/2019 10:42 am : link
11 W’s would be even better.

They have to overtake two out of three teams to grab a WC spot.

Losing 6 straight to Nats and Cubs was really painful, along with the. Historic blown save by the pen to the Phillies.

Mickey has to be fired, regardless of what happens. Any other manager would have gotten this team to the playoffs, with the talent on the roster.

the only thing that would make this yr a failure is not firing Mickey
Eric on Li : 9/15/2019 11:06 am : link
if you told me there's a sophie's choice, make the playoffs or fire Mickey I'd have to really think about it. I would definitely not just take a wild card game and a 50/50 chance at the real playoffs. A full series where we could throw JDG and Thor 4x and put Stroman in BP if we want vs. Mickey is tougher.
Correction
spike : 9/15/2019 11:07 am : link
Historic blown save to the Nationals on 9/3/19.
Inexcusable. They will miss the Nats by one games, thanks to Mickey and his bullpen fools.
