Any interest in Taco Charlton?

KingBlue : 9/15/2019 9:03 am
See linked article. Cowboys can't pay everyone. Kick the tires?
NFL Rumors.. Charlton on trading block - ( New Window )
What’s
Ron Johnson : 9/15/2019 9:14 am : link
The going rate for a guy who doesn’t suit up? A conditional 7th?
Wasn't he just a 1st rounder last draft?
David B. : 9/15/2019 9:16 am : link
Or was it the year before. He looked like a good prospect.

No way they trade him to the Giants regardless.

Nope.
Why not

-we have no pass rush. None
Yes, former 1st rounder

From the article: The Cowboys selected Charlton with the 28th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. In two seasons of action, the 6-foot-6, 275-pound pass rusher has produced 46 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble.

While Charlton has failed to live up to his draft standing, he is just three years removed from an impressive college career at Michigan. The Cowboys recently paid several of their top players, so the franchise could be willing to move on from Charlton’s first-round salary to open up cap space for the future.
I didn't like him in the draft, and don't like him now
PatersonPlank : 9/15/2019 9:21 am : link
Too small, he's a tweener. We've had enough of them over the past 10 years
No thanks
Mike in NY : 9/15/2019 9:22 am : link
Why give them an asset and cap space for someone they obviously don’t want?

You must be thinking of the wrong guy. He's 6'6 277., That's not too small.

6-foot-6, 275 pounds = tweener?
Don't Care for Charlton

I've heard Oakland has shown the most interest in him but Dallas is trying to package him in a deal for Minkah Fitzpatrick.

He could be a solid 3-4 end
larryflower37 : 9/15/2019 10:41 am : link
Might need a little more weight but the cowboys are not trading him this way.
Beside what is his value 6 or 7 round pick?
C'mon if he only costs a 6th or 7th...
KingBlue : 9/15/2019 10:43 am : link
You Jump immediately. He will be way more expensive, IMHO.
He's probably best suited to
JonC : 9/15/2019 11:19 am : link
4-3 DE, not a 3-4 piece.
He is worth kicking the tires
Beer Man : 9/15/2019 11:24 am : link
but the Cowboys and the Giants typically don't trade with one another.
This is a no

Michigan Man.

Him and Peppers instantly change this defense.

Yeah, I am confusing him with someone else (although I can't currently figure out who). I still didn't like him though, but you're right he's not a tweener. He's just a sucker.
He’s a 4-3 DE
BillT : 9/15/2019 12:40 pm : link
And he’s a bust. But let’s definitely sign him.
