kind of drive will make it a lot easier to throw. It takes the pressure of our depleted WR corps. That was about as dominating at the LOS as you will ever see in the NFL. We simply blew them right out on every play. Huge gaping holes. Barkley of course took advantage. An incredible start.

The replay there was no tip, I think Eli throw it too high to get it over the defender.

At this point, it hard to look at many games and conclude that we have the advantage at qb. Considering his declining abaility, he still makes many of the same mistakes he did early in his career

As far as Eli is concerned, he is playing with a very average set of WRs. The Bills are taking away Engram as predicted. But I agree that Eli's lack of mobility is a real problem. Contrast that with Allen. Eli basically needs everything to be nearly perfect on every play to be successful.
But, the D overall is not very well coached. Almost to a man, they bite on every play action, they miss tackles, and they are taking terrible angles rushing the passer.

Bettcher needs to be on the hot seat now. Its been a horrendous 5 quarters of play so far this year and doesnt appear to look like its getting better. Coverage is awful and with no pass rush, this game will start to get out of control too.

The 2015 Giants defense was the worst defense in NFL history. It would say something if we were worse than that defense just 4 years later.

We were lucky Eli's second down pass wasn't intercepted. He simply can't move. The Bills have adjusted, and won't let Barkley beat them like they did on the first drive.

Run on 1st down, pass, pass punt. Not 1 single play action pass. The 1st down run, all of the linebackers immediately crashed inside. Almost every pass needs to be play action. It forces the linebackers and secondary to stay honest, makes running and throwing easier, and slows down the pass rush. Of course this is football 101, a course our coaching staff gets an F on.

Our 2nd will essentially be a first, or at least something we can use to trade into the 1st for the 5th year. so that would be tough. but for a 3rd plus i would definitely pull the trigger. even a mid-2nd rounder makes sense.

A lot of this is not Eli's fault we should just start Jones and the second half. Some people just rise and Jones might be one of them. I don't see any downside and there's a whole ton of different kinds of upside. We need a spark we have none.

I feel that most people understand it, but he airballed his first two throws, routine throws, that could have extended drives. That was when the game was actually manageable. Instead it kills the drive and runs the defense out there to get slaughtered again.
Lots of guys with no experience, new to the NFL and new to the Bettcher scheme. But they've been even worse than I thought they'd be.
And, on the other hand, I expected the Giants' O to be okay, and they're also A LOT worse than I thought they'd be, even given the backup receivers playing. It might be time to shake things up on O and the only thing I can think of to do would be to put in Jones.

I can't imagine ALL of the Giants secondary being THIS bad. Something is not right with the coaching here. Talent is an issue, but these guys didn't simply forget how to play football. Good coaching is all about putting the players you have in the best possible situation to succeed. For too long the Giants coaches have been bound and determined to force that square peg into a round hole.

Many forget the horrible Eli performances that veteran laughter in some of the early games. Specifically the Vikings, Ravens and some other cringe worthy games. What was tough was he was a Manning and not allowed to fail, but he did in epic ways.
Theres no way he can keep being QB the rest of the year. I think we see Jones by Week 6 or 7.
I think Eli is one loss away from a career .500 record and about 4-5 losses from the all time record for losses. That's right, Eli would have lost more games than any QB in history.

The center is protected so long as they have their head down. Defense can't line up over them or can't hit them while the center is protected. Most centers will raise their head after snapping the ball which they are no longer considered defenseless. But it is a smart play by the center (not sure if they are coached to keep their head down) as it will be an automatic penalty.
The defense actually got its act together in the 3rd quarter, we got some pressure, some tips. Connelly is going to get rolled until he's up to speed, same with Lawrence, Baker, Ximines. The key is that we see steady game to game improvement from these guys. This isn't a good team, I've said it since camp, temper your hatred and just hang on, it's going to get worse until these guys have some NFL crust on them.

As far as Eli is concerned, he is playing with a very average set of WRs. The Bills are taking away Engram as predicted. But I agree that Eli's lack of mobility is a real problem. Contrast that with Allen. Eli basically needs everything to be nearly perfect on every play to be successful.

I can't imagine ALL of the Giants secondary being THIS bad. Something is not right with the coaching here. Talent is an issue, but these guys didn't simply forget how to play football. Good coaching is all about putting the players you have in the best possible situation to succeed. For too long the Giants coaches have been bound and determined to force that square peg into a round hole.

I think he missed too much time in camp.
The Bills are rightly keying on Barkley. They should use him as a decoy on first down with play action.
It's not about him being the solution, there's just nothing to gain playing Eli anymore. We need to start the future as soon as possible so that we don't waste years on Jones' rookie contract.

Many forget the horrible Eli performances that veteran laughter in some of the early games. Specifically the Vikings, Ravens and some other cringe worthy games. What was tough was he was a Manning and not allowed to fail, but he did in epic ways.

The center is protected so long as they have their head down. Defense can't line up over them or can't hit them while the center is protected. Most centers will raise their head after snapping the ball which they are no longer considered defenseless. But it is a smart play by the center (not sure if they are coached to keep their head down) as it will be an automatic penalty.
