But we are missing our top 2 WRs in Shep and Tate and were facing a pretty good D in Buf.
It's been ugly for sure, but I think this offense still has a chance to look good. The D on the other hand, is awfully young in key spots and Jenkins who we need to be almost a shutdown CB (as one of the few vets that could stabilize the secondary) is not playing that well.
Next week. “Our offense sucks, but our long snapping game is really looking strong this year.”
14. Buffalo? Please.
The OL from where it was last year is significantly improved. But yeah lol we were coming from a really low bar. But they actually look half decent. The offense still hasnt looked great but it's a combo of Eli ,missing our top receivers and facing pretty good defenses.
I think the run-blocking has had its moments, but Shurmur's play calling has negatively affected the running game, not allowing it to build much momentum. Pass blocking has been much better compare to years past and is probably around league avg. Eli's not facing an onslaught like before, it's that his reduced physical ability is unable to take advantage
Oline play around the league has been trending downard. I think its closer to middle of the pack then bottom barrel
Anybody know why we can't achieve this?
The results on the scoreboard dont show it but they've been significantly better than last year. Saquan hasnt had to be Houdini on every running play. Eli isnt having to dump it off or get rid of the ball in under 2 seconds either.

but if I remember right, Barkley had 107 yards on 18 carries. His first drive was 4 carries for 55. The rest of the game would have been 14 carries for 52 yards. That's 3.7 ypc. Considering his talent, that's not a lot of great holes being there.

If I remember right, at one point Eli had 16 completions for 120 yards. That adds up to a lot of short shit.
So far this year, though - I think calling them 'average' would be charitable. They're not terrible, which is a good improvement, but dramatic improvement is a stretch.
It seems much better because it was sooooo bad.
overall, what little pocket was there didn't last long.
improved isn't good enough. average is a lot worse than it used to be.
