NYG Postgame (vs. Bills) Transcripts: CB Janoris Jenkins -- September 15, 2019

Q: You guys cut it to seven and couldn’t get off the field, how did that make you feel?
A: It was frustrating man; we have to toughen it up and keep playing football.

Q: You said last week was a lot of blown coverages, what was it this week in the secondary?
A: Oh, it was nothing. Did a receiver score? Oh, ok well, we played great in the secondary we just have to step it up a little more.

Q: What about all third down conversions that were completed?
A: Yeah, we just have to come through as a defense and get off the field on third down.

Q: Where do you think you saw the most progress from the first half to the second half as your defense improved later in the game?
A: Just knowing what they were doing in the second half, understanding more route recognitions, formations and stuff like that.

Q: How frustrating is it to be 0-2 again? This seems to be coming every year.
A: It’s frustrating, but I think we have a lot of dogs in here. I think we’re going to pull through, come out, and just continue to work.

Q: Is there anything specific that you think that you’d need to change to get that win in Tampa Bay and turn this thing around?
A: We just have to keep going and keep fighting. Everybody has to finish strong, play harder; everybody has to step it up a notch.

Q: When they scored the three straight touchdowns in the second quarter, they were going at DeAndre (Baker) pretty hard, what did you tell him?
A: Just have to buckle up and play football. Football is going to be football, forget who they’re going at. We’re just trying to win and get a W in here.

Q: Did you see any progress with him? He obviously struggled last week, he had a couple of bright spots today. I’m talking about DeAndre (Baker).
A: There were some bright spots, but we don’t need bright spots. We need spots bright all day, every day. Everybody got to come to play football.

Q: Are they not coming to play football?
A: I don’t know, we got to check that when we come in on Monday. We’ll see what’s going on. Like I said, we just got to come out and play football.

Q: If you see guys not playing football, what do you plan on telling them?
A: You got to tighten up baby, this is the NFL, baby. You have people on the line, jobs on the line, families to feed. We can’t keep coming out here going 0-2; we can’t keep losing like that.

Q: It sounds like you’re a little angry
A: Oh yeah, I’m angry. What is this, my third year starting off 0-2? I’m on year eight, baby. I’m trying to win something.

Gettleman says he wanted players that hate to lose. I hope he doesn't trade him for a 5th rounder because he opened his mouth.
