We need it to go this way......

George from PA : 9/16/2019 12:44 am
As a life long, Giants fan....I felt the season must go either of 2 ways.....Eli leading team to a victory run or another train wreak.....something in the middle would be disaster....as nothing would get accomplished.

Dont get me wrong....I would preferred another run at greatness and certainly a stadium filled with hope, not a graveyard of dispair by Oct.

But a middling, meh type season would be really worse for the Giants.

Now, we must and hope, they establish some more building blocks from the youth movement....starting with Jones.

I was Eli biggest supporter, but its time, Even if these loses are not totally on Eli....he is not leading them anywhere. It time to get to see if the kid is our future. This is critical, as they will be in a position to have options. Now, with his preseason, my hopes are high.....so hopefully it turns into more of a confirmation that he belongs in this league.

Now, the Giants must also uncover more building blocks, both on and off the field.

The coaches, seem to have a decent plan going in...but after a series, all the adjustments favor the opposition. Seem like decent people but coaching is critical and must be sorted out.

Gettlemen has a ton to determine.

And on the field, who are the real deal.

Baker is a major concern, not only as a player, but a major blow to Gettleman as an evalutor. My red flag was was his speed, but I am not expert. Quicknees also matters....and things go hand in hand.....if Baker is more a short area corner....then the Giants must find a top flight, rangy FS.

I like some of the young individuals, but I really do not trust my eyes....i need to rely on the Giants experts....

Next year is KEY.

Not only with a potential great spot to draft...with highly desirable QBs that will demand others to move up....that can truly put the Giants in a good place.

But with a hugh cap available...it is critical to use wisely.

But the rebuild must start sooner, than later....as Mara dream season is over
I think the Giants will find a way to win a few games

Believe it or not. In the first 2 games I haven’t seen enough out of our defense to believe that the players and the coaches are on the same page.

Baker is a young CB, coming off a knee injury, playing a style that doesn’t suit him. He is a press man CB. Bettcher has him playing 9 yards off the WR? That is not helping the kid.

Some positives from yesterday were Golden, Carter, Hill, Lawrence and Connelly. Some decent pressure and solid play. The O Line is improved.

Ogletree doesn’t seem to be in sync with the blitzes either. Very disturbing.
Its going to be another long season

but I still do think we are heading in the right direction. Veterans that are not contributing ( no need to name names...you know who they are ) will all be gone next year freeing up tons of cap space.

The young guys need the exp. Great to see Baker and Connolly learning on the job. Ballentine, Dexter, Xman, last years class all getting experience and an extended look during the season.

Our coaching staff is one of the most important pieces that need a rebuild. Eli or not, we're going nowhere for years with this bunch of imbeciles.
Day Two

If they want to rebuild then accumulate day two picks. That's what the Patriots do.

So you think the number of the best college wide football players is not confined to 32 in number.

Watching the game yesterday from my seats, there is just so much that we are lacking. First of all you can blame Eli all you want but there was little to no separation from the WRs. Also there is absolutely no downfield speed. The Bills were crowding the line of scrimmage after our first possession and we still could not get guys open.

The defense stinks. No play makers and yes we did have a few sacks but when they needed to pressure zippo. Our secondary is brutal. Baker is slow and slow to react. With no pass rush they will get exposed all year. Baker blew at least 3 assignments as well. I am beginning to think he didn't get exposed at Georgia because their DL was so dominant.
