This call should be investigated by the league office. It smelled of the officials taking a hand in the outcome. I'm not a bettor, but it surely messed w/ the point spread as well.
I've been a Giants and pro football fan for better than 50 yrs and can only remember a few calls that smelled this bad.
I'm surprised that there isn't more bitching about this.
The game was still up for grabs at this point and then it was settled.
Larry
it seemed very strange to me
They ran 6 plays, gained 17 yards and turned the ball back over on 4th down.
The bad call didn’t prevent the Giant offense from doing anything. They do that themselves...
I know we have been helped out immensely by that rule in seasons past but it’s a rule that should be added to review since everything else under the sun is now reviewable.
I miss football from the 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s where it didn’t feel like you were getting hosed by the rules at every turn.

The bizarre thing is the referee actually said the player (quarterback) was down by contact before shurmur threw the challenge flag. He only said forward progress was stopped afterwards
That'll teach the city to complain and file lawsuits and whatnot.
