Ok, Miami is getting the top pick. They are awful, I actually think the giants would blow them out in the game this year.
Now, if we are drafting near the top of the draft, do we take a QB or take the Kong’s ransom and trade out of it since we have Jones? Sadly, this is what I have to look forward to this season. The easy part of our schedule is now as the last 8 games are brutal.
Josh Rosen says hi.
The four wins Vegas has for us on the over/under right now is looking very generous.
No. The Giants need to find out this season what they have in Daniel Jones.
Here's a worst case scenario: they play the whole season with Manning, they tank, get the 2nd or 3rd draft pick. They say, "We don't need to draft a QB, we got Jones." They go into next season starting Jones and he turns out to be the king of fumbles or just not that accurate. Find out this season if he is the future of the franchise.
Here's another stark reality. When the only two stars on your team are the the running back and the place kicker you aren't winning many games.
If the Giants finish in let's say position #2 in the next NFL draft and Jones looks like he'll be a franchise guy and another team offers a haul for a QB prospect, I'm inclined to take the haul. However, it has to be under the right conditions.
Ideally if the Giants were drafting from the #2 slot and any two of Tua, Fromm and Herbert were considered "top two" players I wouldn't want the Giants to drop any lower than slot #4. That would mean they would still get one of two bluechip players at a position of need (like ER Chase Young or one of the Bama WR) in addition to more picks.
I only trade out of a top 3 spot if we can still get a bluechip pick at a position of need. Not interested in dropping out of the top 10 or even the top 5 (depending upon how the draft crop looks) just to get more picks.
So, what's our number 1 need? I'd say EDGE (Chase Young) but could be talked into WR (Jeudy). Even if Baker is good, we're going to need another CB soon. Same with OT, I don't think anyone is all that happy with Solder.
This is like making a Christmas list on December 26th, but what else is there to do.
We blew Washington out just last year. Amazingly enough. Though that was because they started Mark Sanchez.
Have you seen Miami? This team is horrible but Miami is historically awful.
The Giants are SB contenders compared to Miami. Miami has a legitimate chance to be the worst team in the history of the NFL.
