Fact of the matter is, this team has two wiNing seasons over the course of the past 7 years since the SB win. With making the playoffs just once.
First it was, it’s not Eli’s fault it’s coaching. McAdoo comes in and same results.
Then it was blame the OL and no rushing game. We draft Barkley
Now it’s coaching and he has no WRs.
So what is it? So great, Eli needs an elite OL, elite rushing game, elite coaching, elite WRs, elite defense, to succeed?
what is this, 'scoring 35' you speak of? haven't seen an Eli lead team do that consistently in forever. Give me the 35 pt offense and ill take my chances with this defense.
Okay sure, but your offense can also help out the defense by not going 3 and out so consecutively. We knew the defense was going to be bad, but the play of the offense is really disappointing considering the two best weapons are still healthy in Engram and Barkley.
I don’t think anyone is happy about it. I think that there are some who are objective about who is is now, and some who cannot separate the limited, bottom 5 qb he is now from the guy who won 2 Super Bowls.
The Patriots do this with an old pocket passing style QB, why can't we?
The Patriots always beat these "shifty new style" QB's who run run run and have a ton of arm strength and great athleticism (see Patriots-Chiefs 2018 AFC Championship game) why can't we.
The team wants to be the Patriots, and the Patriots prove it can be done.
But it doesn't change the FACT that Eli is getting older and is just not as good as he used to be.
You can not run normal play action roll outs and drop backs because he can npt move..
good pass protection and he still cant throw through open passing lanes..
he forces short dump offs rather than sitting in the pocket, he cant extend plays, hpw many plays did josh allen extend yesterday to find open guys?

Exactly. And at this point in his career- what does Eli do well? Aside from his durability, he no longer has any above average attributes of an nfl QB. It’s beyond time to move on and it’s bizarre they keep holding on. And please stop with the Brady/ Pats comparisons....
