So this is what has become of our beloved franchise since the end of the 2016 season.
Counting that playoff loss in Green Bay the Giants have now gone 8-27
In these 35 games counting the first 2 of the 2019 season they have given up 901 points while they have scored 659 points. Basically being outscored by an average of 25.7 to 18.8 per game.
They've had 4 five game losing streaks within this period (the 4th comes from losing the final 3 games last season and the first 2 games this season)
They have only won back-to-back games twice in that period.
They've been shut out twice in that period.
I can't imagine what that would be like over a 10-15 span. 3 years of this and as a fan you just watch on Sundays expecting to lose. Players are not the only ones who develop a losing attitude, fans do as well.
When and how this funk gets broken, I have no idea! But this just isn't fun anymore. That said, this franchise has seen darker days and eventually what goes up must come down. As lifers we will continue to back this team until we can witness better days again. But for now, these numbers are really, really ugly!!
Anyway, getting Collins in 99, and they went back to the Superbowl in 2000. Again, I don't remember what happened.
It wasn't until the 2007 season that they went and won it, as a massive underdog.
The point is, they were are very good team in '97, but it still took them 10 years to win it all. We aren't even at the 97 level.
We played two backup QB's.
4-13 Home record since 2017, counting yesterday's loss!
