They cannot admit that playing without the guys who were brought in to be receivers number 1 thru 4 (5 once Latimer went out) on the depth chart is a shitty hand?
If you think Jones succeeds with Fowler and TJ Jones as his top two receivers I would suggest you re-think things. In fact I would rather they roll Eli out there with these guys until Tate and Shep come back so Jones has a shot to get off on the right foot.
And if you re-read what I originally said I did admit its time to see Jones.
In these types of interviews, is he asks a great question, but doesn't allow the interviewee to answer before he chimes back in.
Let Pat answer the question you just asked!!!!
Agreed and he does it with everyone. Even guys he likes like Eli, Aikman, and Danielson. Let alone guys he doesn't like lol.
He's got an absolutely terrible interview style and has been that way for years. He'll come up with some good questions and isn't afraid to ask the tough ones but what good is it if you don't let them answer them?
in your assessment of this interview. This was filled with Mike's self stroking and interrupting PS. I am not impressed with this interview at all.
How can you can you call this an interview?? This is mike not letting explanations happen, they are just let me put you on the spot and then bash a little more.
You can do exactly what Mike was doing by asking questions, not making YOUR opinion statements in a veiled question that you follow up with (while PS tries to answer) with more shots...
I didn't hear anything from Pat Shurmur that was negative or a sign he is incapable. These interviews, if any of you find them a sign of his coaching ability, is akin to Mara listening to the fans opinions before making decisions..
Shurmur was trying to say yesterdays game was closer than it appeared AKA asking for a moral victory. He also didn't have an answer for why he should be the coach moving forward. You don't view that as a problem?
"Well actually Barkley touched the ball a lot"
"Well actually the game was closer than it looked"
"Well actually remember that this was a 5 win team last year."
is in desperate need of media training. Lots of clumsy answers to questions over the years. Holmgren was right about him, very smart but lacking a bit in how he projects himself in public
Did you hear that Buffalo used Shurmur's comment about Allen having a "chance to be starting QB" in the NFL as actual bulletin board material?
They were apparently pretty pissed about the comment...

And to think, the Giants just fired a coach two years ago who had the exact same communication issues.
Thought Mikes questions were fair. Thought PS handled well. Mike to me essentially was saying second year and what is the team better at? PS said the OL.
It seems PS was saying without being allowed to that this is a very young team....cut off......and probably wanted to say let's see how they progress.

NOPE... And, that is your interpretation of what he said. He didnt say it was a moral victory, he countered MF's assessment that the Giants were not in the game and were flat out beaten. Shurmurs points were valid.
They were in the game for the opening 5 minutes. Â
Shurmur is basically saying that we really did play closer in these games mentioning “one score games” and how we almost did this or that and it would have been “closer on the scoreboard” but really was close on the field and how the Bills really are very good.
Here is the truth: the Bills are a 6 win team and a perennial loser who have beaten 2 of the 6 worst records from last year. They have the a 2nd year struggling QB and were on the road. And they had a 21-7 halftime lead and win a relatively easy 28-14 victory.
This Bills team is not a contender and likely not a playoff team either.

Not every QB needs big name receivers, an all pro offensive line and an all pro running back to be successful. Stop making excuses for Eli, it’s something every year. When Odel was here he still couldn’t function. It’s always something.
RE: Sounds like the Daniel Jones era is going to happen sooner Â
Rather than later. Listening to Shurmur makes me think Eli is going to the bench.
If in fact Eli is benched after a game in which he played without his top four receivers that would be a shame. Not saying its not time but Eli just seems to be dealt a shit hand at every turn.
I’ll always believe that as well. Yes he hasn’t been the solution here the last few years there’s no denying that but his teams fucking SUCKED lately. Eli did so much more good than bad here even leaving out the super bowl wins.
If the team was good enough, Eli was good enough. And you can’t say that about a lot of QBs throughout history. It’s as simple as that. He wasn’t perfect but Eli was better than this. I have no doubts.

the bills made the playoffs in 2017. they have a lot of talent on that team and a tough defense. sure, it's tough being in a division w the pats, but buffalo is not some shit team like the giants or miami. if allen tanks it will obv set them back but he hasn't even played 16 games yet so jury is out. so far they team is 2-0 with two road wins. sure the giants defense can make any shit QB look like a star, but allen made some nice plays to keep drives alive this past sunday.

be, that's really pathetic that you would use this as some sort of indictment on PS. It was a benign comment that the sensitive little Bill's tried to blow out of proportion, and frankly was the saddest example of bulletin board material I've ever heard of.
PS is 5-13 as HC of the Giants. He is going to get the next 30 games to turn that around, and we'll know if he will develop into a winner. We'll see...but I give 2 craps if some 2nd rate team and city is offended by a nothing comment, and frankly am shocked you would bring this up as proof of anything.
You know there are some great valid points made in this thread Â
Posts I disagree with but done by many by posters I have respect for and who have been on BBi for at least a couple of years. Posters who have laid it out here either right or wrong
But for the life of me, you fucks who just showed up the last two weeks are about the biggest group of assbags I have ever seen on here! You run your mouths in troubling times but are too pussified to be on here year round

I don't understand the point of your comment. The poster you're responding to was just saying that the Bills are "a 6 win team... not a contender and likely not a playoff team" which is why the Giants losing to them looked really bad. I mean the Bills were 6-10 last year, that was just a true statement. You try to come back saying they're not such a bad team, and at first I thought you were saying that to make the point that the Giants have lost to 2 good teams so let's not rush to judge NYG so quickly. But then in the same post you say the Giants are one of the worst 2 teams in the league along with Miami. So you agree the Giants are an awful team with no direction (I assume you think this considering you're lumping them in with Miami), so what were you trying to say in your post? Were you just defending the Bills' honor? I mean the guy said "likely not a playoff team", they aren't bottom of the barrel bad like the Giants or Miami (like you said), but no one was saying they're bottom of the barrel bad. So, what was the purpose of your post (is all I'm asking, and I'm asking seriously not trying to be a dick).
RE: Sounds like the Daniel Jones era is going to happen sooner Â
Not saying its not time but Eli just seems to be dealt a shit hand at every turn.
I mean he's at the end of his career with two rings, over a quarter of a billion dollars in take home pay, his health, and a shot at the hall of fame. Can we not make him out to be a sad story?
Did you hear that Buffalo used Shurmur's comment about Allen having a "chance to be starting QB" in the NFL as actual bulletin board material?

When you hear him communicate some of these answers and in general, you have to wonder how exactly he has gotten two head coaching jobs.
NFL legacy hire - his uncle was a long time DC and HC.
got his son Kyle a job on Andy Reid's practice squad too

Nepotism
Fritz Shurmur was a great DC
Maybe that is more family name than nepotism
