Love seeing Nimmo back at the top of the order. Last night's loss was devastating and probably severely hampered any playoff chances we had. Still pissed we didn't let Wheeler start the 8th... Pretty much need to run the table here to have a shot and win 10-11 out of 13. At least its the Rockies... Maybe the bats will wake up a bit. LFGM!
One game too late assholes. Annnnnd. Why is Ramos out of the game tonight if he's going to be resting tomorrow too? Idiotic.
May not have much to cheer for soon - so Im all in - We need a historic run to make it to the dance and until we are out - we are ALL IN!
LFGM!
Dumbass walking people with a 3 run lead.
That pitcher was 0-37
But neither is a keeper. You have two more years of each and then sdiod
This says it all - ( New Window )
Callaway's baffling moves make the case for his dismissal obvious. Brodie traded away the majority of our best prospects for Robinson Cano, Edwin Diaz and Marcus Stroman. The Mets will likely finish with the 7th or 8th best record in the National league. Brodie tried to win now, and failed. Tampa is on the verge of another 90 win season with a payroll that even the Wilpons couldn't justify. Let's right the biggest wrong of last offseason and bring in Chain Bloom to make us legit.
Assuming they don't totally just mail it in here the next week and a half, I'm actually quite proud of this group (not counting most of the bullpen). There were about a half dozen times you thought they were left for dead going back to June and they never said "die". Ultimately, you can't navigate a two-man pen, you can't drop 5+ run leads in the 8th and 9th innings multiple times, and you can't get swept at home, late in the season by the team you're chasing in the playoff standings. All of which did them in.
One thing on the manager, who obviously needs to be let go at season's end. While he terribly mismanaged a lot of decisions and overall seems in over his head as a manager. I really wanted to like him as I think he's a genuinely good guy and looking back on it, in May and June when we all said the season was toast and he kept saying they had a run in them, he was right. I thought he was out of his mind but the team did in fact make a run and at least made things interesting for a while even with a shit pen and I give him credit for being able to see that.
All that said, please bring Joe Girardi in here! I'm begging.
Aside from the move for Girardi, which I think is a slam dunk no-brainer, I'm not sure what direction they go in particularly with the staff. While, I probably wouldn't do it, I think they are going to move Noah. Just too much writing on the wall at the trade deadline and with the Nido/Ramos stuff. I could come around on the idea if the package is significant and they follow with locking up Wheeler and Stroman. I like Matz as a 5th starter.
As for the every day guys, I'd love McNeil's future to be at 2b, but with Cano here McNeil has to play third. But other than that, we seem to be pretty well set in the short term.
Ramos
Alonso
Cano
Rosario
McNeil
Davis
Nimmo/Lagares
Conforto
Bench guys: Dom, Panik/Guillorme, Nimmo/Lagares, Nido/Rivera, backup SS.
If Thor is moved, CF and catcher are the spots I'd target along with pitching in the pipeline.
I have no idea about the bullpen other than that I know Familia is garbage, Diaz needs to be moved or demoted to start next season and if it's the latter maybe he can earn back trust. Obviously Lugo. Gsellman, Wilson and Avilan as LOOGY.
NOW Nido is catching for Thor - ( New Window )
