A good chunk of our WRs will be here next year, too. And this regime has looked to upgrade multiple positions the last few seasons, how's that worked out in win column these past few years?
Looked like he snapped his foot underneath his body. Hate to see that kind of thing, especially on a roughing the passer penalty. How many of those is Garrett going to be allowed to get tonight?

But we have wonderful emotions and a positive culture!
There certainly isn't anything wrong with the idea of getting the right players that can handle some adversity without airing it out. Now, if you want to say the team still hasn't reached that goal then fine.
is Garrett doing? That's his second PF penalty against a QB in this half. He should be ejected. Siemian looks like he broke his ankle. I agree it's incredible he's walking. Falk now in for the Jets. Maybe if Siemian is done for the year, they'll go get Webb from the Bills' PS.
There is nothing remotely impressive (or likable) Â

If they don’t add Webb tomorrow it just goes to show how horrible he is.
Where is all this great talent and coaching that fanofthejets promised us?
Jets are on their fourth kicker and third QB. Yes, we have problems, but that is unreal for game two.
Despite having the second most cap room in the league they let their pro bowl kicker leave in free agency. They’re on their 4th kicker because their FO is terrible.

Well, it sure wouldn't be hard to get him from the Bills.
from the time I was twelve, and when players were expected to hit hard, and you could tell whether a catch was made without super slow motion replay, would I be watching this?
Dancing with the Stars is more entertaining than this.
not sure what is going on with him. The book is not written but DG may deserve a lot of credit with not pulling the trigger on any of those QBs in the 2018 class.
And didn’t get called. I’d venture to say it happens on every field goal.
The announcers and the NFL ref that comes on during broadcasts called the refs out for it. Dumb call, but unlikely that it affected the outcome. Though the Giants D doesn't get the small credit they should've for a goal stand.
And didn’t get called. I’d venture to say it happens on every field goal.
I didn't watch closely, but did the center raise his head after the snap? The center is only protected while his head is down. In the Bills game, Dex had to be readjusted before the snap so that he wasn't lining up over the center. But immediately after the snap, Dex moved over the center while the head was down. It is a penalty and good coaching. It is a cheap penalty, but it is a point of emphasis and the refs are watching. It gave the Bills a new set of downs and allowed the score.

Dex literally put his arm on the guys back as he shuffled to his right to go through the gap and get his hand up to block the kick. It was incidental looking.

The penalty is supposed to protect the center while in a defenseless position. Gene Steratore said that what Lawrence did, basically moving across and brushing him is not engaging, not pushing him backward and does not meet the criteria of the penalty. It was a blown call.
Your arguably pro-bowl caliber RB just gained 8 yards on 2nd and 10, so you take him out for a 3rd and 2. You then run a bubble screen and your QB scrambles for a loss.
Why not just pound the rock on 3rd and 2. You have a good RB and your QB is struggling. You also have a 16-3 lead at midfield.
Browns or Giants, if you're looking for a new OC call me. I'll at least be league average.

I listened to Steratore's reasoning. And while I agree that the spirit of the rule and what Dexter did should not elicit a flag. The letter of the rule is that the center is protected while in a defenseless posture (head down). Maintaining the posture allows for the center to be protected. It is a difficult instinct to overcome. Ticky-tack cheap penalty, but the it is an absolute penalty as the rule is written.
Run stuffer, a guard who is decent and a safety who quite frankly isn't any good.
Coming out of that trade without a good player at a premium position is a disaster.
Zeitler is one of the best RG in the game. Fixing the o-line was a huge priority. If Lawrence reaches his potential he's more than just a run stuffer and will be a great help to the pass rush. Jury is out on Peppers.

The jury is 12 Angry Men on Peppers. There is only one voice in the room saying he is an above average safety.

Meh, Jets haven't scored more than 3 pts they likely didn't need it
And sure while anything can happen, this is basically another shitty team he's on. 7-9? So what. Same complaints he had while here, save he's got a younger QB...not much different in CLE atm at least
We got Zeitler in the Vernon deal. Ximines is the other piece to the run stuffer and Peppers. No need to worry though, we have Bennie Fowler out there instead of #13..

Werent we getting Zeitler for Vernon anyway?
So really we traded him for a safety and nose tackle.
Good point. Remarkably bad trade. Peppers is average and that might be kind. Lawrence will be solid but just won't impact games nearly enough to justify that trade.

Haha you got be kidding me with this crap. It’s such a micro aggression. Half the reason OBJ isn’t on this team is because of the old racists who ran him out of town for being a flamboyant African American.
Peak BBI also got infuriated by Cris Carter when he dared to question whether a Jones TD pass would have succeeded against had their top flight safety been in the game.
traded him for peppers, a rookie DT, and a rookie pass rusher, traded all the rest of the vet talent on the team sans jenkins, and is going to get after it next year when the cap is looking better, and attempt to build through the draft. it's not flashy, but beckham had to go, esp if he was dogging it the last 4 games and told shurmur to go fuck himself or whatever. live with it. the browns will implode when they play better teams. jets are one of the worst teams in the league.

Racist you just can’t deal with a flamboyant African American!!!!!!!!
His straight line speed seemed the same to me as always even last year, but his shiftiness looked less
I still think he has. There wasn’t anyone near him on that play
His top speed on this run was 21 mph, maybe even a little higher, matching or close to his speed on the slant he took to the house against Dallas 3 years ago

I do kind of wish Shurmur would go fuck himself or whatever tho.
Not saying you're wrong (no idea) but why you'd feel the need to run up the score on the Fn Jets when you yourself are a shit team (it seems). Cuz of Williams? Are these guys THAT big ego maniacs? (yes, but I mean to put your players in harms way for that...how do FOs let that stupidity slide?). This would be worse in my book!

Why do you not get that perhaps you need both? But, then again you just want to argue while avoiding any common ground.
you need both. And thats why trading away a proven elite receiver who is tailor made for a WCO for an unproven safety and draft picks was ridiculous. Part of Chairman Getty’s Cultural Revolution

And perhaps he wasn't a good fit for the team as talented as he is. Isn't that a possibility, just like it's a possibility that Gettleman was wrong? What is the good of our thoughts always using a one way street? I don't have any problems with thought out opinions, but to have a thought out opinion requires that we honestly believe that what we are expressing could be missing valuable information that would ultimately affect our thinking if we are willing to set pride aside and admit we didn't know what we thought.

Trade OBJ and don’t resign Collins... the only resign-able draft picks we have ... also BBI
But we have wonderful emotions and a positive culture!
I young QB can’t use a mismatch one on one?
Saquon couldn’t use a WR to take the top off and keep safeties honest?
Why not another weapon that you absorbed the sunken cost in already?

We certainly get cap space, and don't have to deal with all of his emotions.
Can we buy wins with cap space? True we don't need to worry about emotions . . . or catches . . . or yards . . . or td's . . . or guys getting open
Or wins, we didn't win with Beckham.
Doing it even less now.
Not really, seems about the same.
Let's see how many we win this year first. Supposedly, removing the 'cancer' was going to make the offense better. A big nope on that.
You said let's see about the wins, so let's see about the offense.

If only we didnt burn it on a 32 year old PED cheat and a 36 year old piece of toast at safety.
And alot of that Beckham money is dead money..
This year, we get relief next year.
And the same crappy WRs.
Is that a fact? The giants won't look to upgrade the receivers?
A good chunk of our WRs will be here next year, too. And this regime has looked to upgrade multiple positions the last few seasons, how's that worked out in win column these past few years?
Garrett with two late hits , very late should be out!

Well, wins do kind of matter.
But we have wonderful emotions and a positive culture!
There certainly isn't anything wrong with the idea of getting the right players that can handle some adversity without airing it out. Now, if you want to say the team still hasn't reached that goal then fine.

Oh no, they handle adversity very well-we have the right players to both create and handle adversity. Well done!

Quite possibly.

Dancing with the Stars is more entertaining than this.
Very underwhelming. First time actually watching him in the NFL and doesn't look like the rising superstar pundits made him out to be.

Touch Football, Sold as Safer, Now Requires a Helmet
A Texas program for high schools mandated soft-shell helmets after serious injuries occurred during incidental contact.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/20/sports/football/football-safety-touch-flag-helmets.html
The announcers and the NFL ref that comes on during broadcasts called the refs out for it. Dumb call, but unlikely that it affected the outcome. Though the Giants D doesn't get the small credit they should've for a goal stand.

Of course, although Saquon isn't the headache Odell is.

The penalty is supposed to protect the center while in a defenseless position. Gene Steratore said that what Lawrence did, basically moving across and brushing him is not engaging, not pushing him backward and does not meet the criteria of the penalty. It was a blown call.
Why not just pound the rock on 3rd and 2. You have a good RB and your QB is struggling. You also have a 16-3 lead at midfield.
Browns or Giants, if you're looking for a new OC call me. I'll at least be league average.
You act as if the Giants defense wouldn't do this too.

I'm glad his ego is gone but boy would I have loved to see an offense with Jones Barkley and Beckham
Run stuffer, a guard who is decent and a safety who quite frankly isn't any good.
Coming out of that trade without a good player at a premium position is a disaster.
Thr Giants defense would have given it back already.
Same, why couldn't he just be normal, everyone would've been happy
"Remember what he said" about deep balls? That was another short / quick slant...derp
I thought he did, looks like he still has it. Good for him, Giants would suck with or without him.

Zeitler is one of the best RG in the game. Fixing the o-line was a huge priority. If Lawrence reaches his potential he's more than just a run stuffer and will be a great help to the pass rush. Jury is out on Peppers.

Good point. Remarkably bad trade. Peppers is average and that might be kind. Lawrence will be solid but just won't impact games nearly enough to justify that trade.

Right now, with the way they're playing - with the possible exception of Miami, most teams would probably have no trouble beating the Giants.

you need both.
