getting our heir apparent ready is not important? BB got Stidham action. We should have done the same.
Ridiculous.
Yea it's just crazy to get a young QB who you think might take over mid-season live game action. What's the point of doing that? Why would BB do such a stupid thing? What does he know?

Yeah that 4th preseason game would've made a huge difference. After all if it wasn't for that 4th preseason game all the great qb's in the past would've never made it.
the whole 4th preseason game (other than injury avoidance). It's clear that they were taking Tanney over Lauletta no matter what, so why the hell did we need to pretend that was a competition by playing both those guys so much?
It's not a big deal either way, but this organization just screws things up big and small all the damn time.

Exactly.. they gave all those snaps to Lauletta and Tanney and we (and they) knew Lauletta was more talented, and Lauletta clearly outplayed him, and they still cut Lauletta. It was all some stupid charade. More snaps should have gone to Jones instead of this silly mollycoddling.

Stidham and Jones' situations aren't remotely close. Stidham isn't playing a down unless Brady is hurt or they're blowing someone out. Jones is a likely starter at some point this season, so the thought was not to subject him to defenders looking to make a play to get themselves on a team.
There is a lot to blame management for, but this is a reach. How much was it going to help Jones play against guys who are looking for jobs in the CFL right now?

I don't think Stidham and Jones are that far apart. They are both heirs to older QBs. Yes Jones was expected to play this season, but Stidham has to be ready to play behind a 40+ player. But the general point is true, long term it made no difference, but for this season it would have been nice to give Jones a full half at least. I don't know why this is such a controversial idea around here. A half to bounce around the pocket, take a few shots. The handling of Jones was very narrow, scripted, and safe. It was an opportunity to let him scrap around and get a feel for game speed, take off the restraints, before he has to do it in an official game. It's a no-brainer.
Ridiculous.

That should be - 2 weeks on the board in this handle.
This guy is a fucking dupe.
and he will
it will have absolutely nothing to do with the 4th pre season game
