If you have a solid track record for talent evaluation and you know the place is a destination for free agents you could really turn things around quickly.
9 picks in the first two rounds in two years.
In addition to the draft picks detailed below they project to have a whopping $119M in cap room in 2020.
Granted they need pretty much an entire roster rebuild, but if I were a GM I'd be manipulating my way into the organization.
And if I owned the Dolphins I would't hate Grier - he helped this rebuild so far - and his brother was a favorite of mine and a beast at BU and thrived in the NHL for a while and his father a former Patriots front-office guy. Seems to have a good pedigree, but I'd bring in someone.

We might have the bleakest outlook in the league for the foreseeable future.
I think ESPN did a “futures ranking” and the NYG were like 31 out of 32. Perhaps they weren’t that far off?

That is a little crazy. We have a ton of cap space, a QB who looks like he is a keeper and the best RB in the league...
A defense is tough to build, but we're not THAT screwed.
That said, the Dolphins could be looking at 3 1st rd picks in the top 15. I would look to drop down from one of those, and get multiple 2nd and 3rd round picks. With a complete rebuild on hand and a draft bounty this coming year and next year, I would load up on 1st-3rd round picks.. Take my chances there and not worry too much about getting 4th, 5th etc picks. If you can get 9-10 picks in the 1st three rounds and hit on 75% of those, you have a very solid group to work with.
The Dolphins need to spend $$$ on defense in FA (easiest thing to rebuild with FA) and draft heavily on Offensive Line, Quarterback and then Defensive Line/ Def play makers..
We have our QB (at least we sure think so), a superstar RB, a young attacking TE, LG and RG set, C pretty set, strong DT's, young secondary that needs playing time to develop.
With cap space we are in a pretty good spot as far as I am concerned.

That all depends on Jones. If he's a top 15 QB, Giants are in good shape. They have a ton of cap room and a very young roster with all of the following playing their 3rd year or less (off the top of my head):
Jones
Barkley
Hernandez
Engram
Lawrence
Tomlinson
Hill
Carter
Baker
Love
Peppers
Ximenes
Ballentine
They still have a lot of holes obviously, but there's a solid amount of young (though largely unproven) talent on this team.
If it is done correctly and the proper qb selected, the Dolphins should be ascending as the Patriots dynasty finally comes to a close, which leaves the division wide open and potentially up for grabs every year.
Lastly, let's cool on the "we have our qb" talk. Right now, all we know is he was very good in the preseason. Lets seem him replicate that aspect, while continuing to improve in the regular season. The worst thing for him to be is Tannehill 2.0, because he's not bad enough to give up on immediately but also not good enough to win. If he is a legitimate top 10 franchise qb, then the Giants future will point upward.
of course. just saying often times a GM might walk into a shitty team, who is cap strapped and limited with draft picks and could be shitty for a while.
As Dolphins GM, it will be all on you (or mostly)
Bengals. Steelers(possibly ). Panthers( cam) might not be resigned
Tampa Bay (who knows about Jamis )
Raiders

There are a lot of unproven names on that list, and the big if starts with whether or not Jones is the goods.
And even if all that pans out - you still have quite a few holes to fill, and that $60M is not going to go anywhere near as far as you think.
Right now, the Giants are in sad shape.
Lawrence doesn't come out till 2021.

Good point, one I missed from your first post - not trying to 'german' your thread brother.
