Saquon Barkley will rush the ball 25 or more times for approximately 200 yards. Jones will have a good day but not great. The Giants will win a game. Everyone will say, "Well fuck, why didn't we do that with Eli Manning?
That is a really good fucking question.
The Giants will lean on Barkley still BUT, Jones will have his spots and the ability to move the pocket now, with a threat to run, will keep defenses honest.
Think of it this way:
Cam Newton, with a shoulder that is obviously fucked up, with accuracy worse than a weather man predicting rain 3 weeks out and with a foot that he just cannot push off on, threw for over 300 yards on this defense.
Daniel Jones will have a successful start against the Bucs.... I am so very psyched to see him play!
Someone from Canton will present him with his gold jacket in the locker room during postgame.
.....
.....
I just want to see how comfortable he is behind center, and how his passes look.
I expect Jones to do better.
What would be really nice is a win.
with this WR crew, that might be all that's available.
At least Jones hits his check downs and gives his receivers a chance to get YAC. With ELi throws are at the feet, too high, behind....
And that’s exactly why this is the right move - so he can go through that and learn from it
Barkely is not a battering ram type RB
If you broadcast his runs he will not do well
The bigger thing will be if the team can stay healthy. If they do there is enough for him to lead the team to points.
Saquon runs for 150, 2 TDs
Jones gets a two scores.
We still lose because the defense is young and inexperienced.

Of course the D can still play cover 2, why does this change that at all. In fact, odds are they will play more Cover 2 and try to disguise it to fool the rookie.
I think this is about right. I would add two turnovers however... 1 INT and 1 fumble.

If he does this it would be outstanding. However I worry that if he is hitting 70% completions it will be through checkdowns. Bucs will blitz a lot, and disguise coverages a lot to confuse him (like with any rookie). It takes time to figure these things out in a live game. People need to be patient

The Bucs D can't just do Cover 2 like they would on Eli. Expect the Giants to be more proficient and efficient getting into the endzone. There will be much less 50 yard drives that stall at the 25 simply because of Jones ability to run.

Well for one Jones' ability to extend plays could put a lot of pressure on the mid to deep middle.
Optimistic huh?
Prophet
I can see that

May have wanted Jones all along, so he put the ball in Eli hands to show that he’s not a fit for his scheme. But then again it’s shurmur, lol
This feels true to me.
When you start to go down the road of conspiracy theory, you may want to pull a u-turn...
Nah. I already think he sucks, so there's no turning involved.

he throws 2 INTs and a bunch of mouth-breathing, unappreciative degenerates turn on him.

Yep, I give it one half before the game thread idiots start yelling for Hebert

As we all know, you are one of a kind. I meant all the rest, and you know it too...
Unappreciative? Is there some appreciation Giants fans are supposed to have for Jones at this point?

I think you know what I was saying, and to whom I was referring...
I must protest. The mouthbreathing is just the inevitable result of all the damned ragweed lately.
Degenerate....well, I must plead guilty to that one.

Ops, Herbert. Although I could have just as easily have said Tua or Lawrence
I said this in another thread and got killed for it. If they run the ball through Saquon and look competent I think it'll be safe to say thats what happened.
Just like Eli's ugly debut against the Eagles in 2004- it was ugly but its exciting to the new QB develop, warts and all.
You meant Falcons.
Does enough for us to have hope.
