you just have to root for the guy and not bash him relentlessly.
I'll definitely root for the guy, but if he proceeds to spend the next 14 games completely shitting the bed, I reserve the right to bash him relentlessly.
For Daniel Jones because I’m a fan of the Giants . But I’m also not going to go mental on other posters who feel he’s not performing well or post dishonest and disingenuous threads on how amazing he is because of his yardage or consecutive starts stats.

LOL. But you will post disingenuous crap that Eli was lucky twice in his career and that the defense carried the team, right?
But if he sucks, he sucks. We can hire new management and I’ll just as happily join the Tua fan club or Trevor Lawrence fan club. It’s a results business.
RE: RE: RE: You don't need a jersey to join the DJFC.... Â
My position is the last thing any of us needs is more white knight bullshit for Daniel Jones. It was annoying enough with Eli.
We're all rooting for the Giants to win. The posters calling others bad fans because they have the temerity to criticize this floundering organization...it's probably time for them to shut their mouths.
Greg just an honest question, why do you post here? Not trying to be a dick, just generally curious.
Greg's one of the smartest posters on this board.* He's a bit of a crank but he knows what he's talking about. I can't speak for him but I'd guess he's probably the type of person who finds it embarrassing that a grown man would start a thread asking others to join his fan club.
*His opinions should be completely disregarded when it comes to evaluating players from either UVA or VT, however, as it's literally impossible for him to offer unbiased opinions there.
Don't hide behind a disingenuous question. Here, I'll help you out with a little roleplaying:
RYAN: Greg, you hate everything! You're not really a Giants fan! All you do is say mean things about the team!
GREG: Well, Ryan, I've been a Giants fan since I was in preschool, raised that way with a lifelong fan dad and a grandfather who as a kid used to go watch Mel Hein and Tuffy Leemans at the Polo Grounds. Aside from when I was deployed and had little ability to post, I've been coming here for almost two decades and I still enjoy the repartee with the old timers. When there are reasons to be positive about the team, I'm plenty positive. When the organization sucks from top to bottom, as it has for years now, I call a spade a spade. Plus, the Yankees group here is top notch.
I absolutely am fair and unbiased in evaluating my Hoos. For example, as much as I liked Clint Sintim in college, I said at the time that it was a bizarre pick because he didn't fit their defensive scheme at all.
i'm not trying to attack you, i just find it very strange that you seem to hate the Giants, with everything that you post. Yet you call yourself a fan.
I hate that they've been a goddamned embarrassment for years. I hate that there is little reason to think they'll be much better any time soon. I hate that the team I grew up adoring that was FEARED by the rest of the league in the 80s is a total laughingstock now. Since I am in fact a Giant fan, and have been all of my life, I much prefer it when the Giants don't, to use a technical term, suck ass.
Sorry that I'm not a shill for a poorly run franchise. You guys seem to have that role pretty well nailed down already.

Based upon his subsequent success, it appears that he may not have fit any system.
I suspect shredding his knee had something to do with that Â

Amen Greg.
I'll just add to that - considering most of my football fandom is derived from the Giants, I hate that I've got nothing to look forward to sports-wise once the Yankees wrap up their season. The Knicks will be awful, and it's going to be October and we'll once again be looking forward to the draft. I'll get to enjoy watching the NFL here or there, but nothing like it used to be when the team actually fielded a halfway decent bunch (and I'm not only talking about the 4 SBs).
Sunday will be exciting. I haven't felt this in a long time.
This will be hard for many around here.
That's right. I'm claiming it now!

Wow, a post in which you're not sarcastically screaming about culture, outing yourself as a complete fool!
Good for you!
EFC til I die!
I'll be rooting hard for Jones, but I might mention it if he plays poorly.
Not sure of your position on this.

And invariably, even when he does not.

I have hope again, that is no small thing.

There. Now go wave your pom-poms.

Yeah, like Steve Smith! Oh, wait....
lol, I missed this the first time around.
Wait a minute - we except long term members - not guys likely to pass on at any minute!!
