If Shurmer were let go, who would you bring in?

JFIB : 9/17/2019 1:38 pm
This has nothing to do with DJ taking over or if it would happen, but a lot of BBI is talking about showing Shurmer the door. Let's just say the end of the season sees management uninspired with the coaching and wants to make a change. Who would you like to see brought in. I'm thinking Chuck Pagano would be the hottest candidate around. Three playoff years in Indy and he has that Chicago Defense absolutely humming!

added bonus of weakening the 'Boys staff. Surprised his name hasn't seen more traction in recent years.
I hear Chris Mara is a great football and operations mind

Or Tomlin or someone with a similar name so BBI can spell the coach's name.

I think you spell it tomlen...
I wanted them to hire Matt LaFleur instead of Shurmur

but they missed that opportunity. Not sure who I would want at this point but IMO it's not very likely that Shurmur is replaced after the season anyway.
Great leader type

Someone who can judge talent and is very good at identifying coaching talent. I felt the big difference between Parcells and Coughlin was the former's ability to put great staffs together consistently.

Tom Brady retires and he comes here to coach Jones aka Brady 2.
Someone in their 30's or 40's who has zero ties to the Mara's

and has been in the league and with a well run organization for the last 5 or more years.

OC at Penn State when Barkley was there, now HC at Miss State.

If you want someone who knows how best to use Barkley he’s your guy.
Someone in the Vrabel mode

An outsized personality and having caliber like Coughlin and Parcells.

Brady? Retire?

Put down the bong, man. Brady's playing until he's 70.

Lincoln Riley might well look at the set-up and say, "Meh! Dave Gettleman? No, thanks!"

I’d still do it!
I still think Steve Wilks might make a good HC

He just seems like a natural leader of men. Could replace the aptly named Kitchens when he eventually fails. At the least, would really like to get him as our DC somehow

Or he might want to use the top 5 pick we likely get on a QB he prefers to Jones.
