Favorite Regular Season Eli Game?

Chris684 : 9/17/2019 2:58 pm
Which NFC title game and SB play did you like better?

Favorite regular season game for me is probably @ Philly 06 or @ Dallas 2011. Tough to choose between the 2 but I'll go Dallas because of the playoff implications.

While the GB title game was the stuff of legend because of the weather, I prefer his performance against the SF defense in that swamp of a field and with the beating he took. I also think those 49ers were better than the Packers were in 07.

I'm probably in the minority but I like the throw to Manningham over the throw to Tyree in the SB. The Tyree play was magical chaos. The throw to MM was as difficult, from a pure skill level, as it gets.

we played the Ravens at home and crushed them. Had 200 yds rushing. Dominated the Ravens and Ray Lewis spent the entire game on his back. Not Eli's greatest game but that season we dominated until Plax shot himself.

This one is a gem of mine because NO Philly fans seem to remember that game. Odd. Selective memory?

Yet they remember exactly which horse farm they went to go eat shit in celebration over the DeSean Jackson game.

What a come back. When he hit Toomer in the EZ for the win, me and several random Giants fans in Baileys Pub in Ballston Mall jumped up screaming and hugged each other as if we knew each other for years. All based on the fact that we knew we had our QB of the future.

What a game...

in 2011 when the roster had just started deteriorating at key spots, and he sealed the W w a TD pass to ballard late in the 4th, for one of his many 4th quarter comeback wins. first win in the dallas' new stadium is up there too. hahaha

I was ready to dump him after Minnesota that year. Happy I was dead wrong. All he went through his first 4 years and he was still standing I knew he was definitely gonna have many WTF moments but also had something very "special" abut him.

I was there. I've been to over 60 Giants home games. The crowd was so into it that day unlike no other I went to. It was nice to see the Giants take it to a formidable Baltimore opponent.

Eli has more wins in Foxboro versus Tom Brady (one) than Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers combined.

San Diego 2005. I don't think the Giants defense even touched Ladian Tomlinson that game.

I remember the highlights from that game on NFLN. They had audio of Pope telling Ballard to just run and get ready for the ball on his shoulder, not to worry, the QB would make sure it's there.

And sure enough, that's exactly what happened.

but the game vs the Eagles in 2010, which was more or less Victor Cruz's coming out party was a memorable one. It kinda sucked for a little bit and then we kicked their asses! I remember calling my dad right after that game, and we both knew something good was brewing.

Aside from the Super Bowls, no game will ever top the 2011 NFCC game. All time classic Eli, incredible game, and it took a year off my life I'm sure.

Man. I am going to miss Eli.

Good call on the San Diego game. Absolutely brutal atmosphere, and the charger defense wanted to kill the at a little more than usual that day. Also, no Burress for the first quarter for disciplinary reasons.

I remember in the first quarter I believe, Eli had missed a couple of throws and the stadium was just rocking. Theisman (Sunday night game) said, "I really think this place is starting to get to Eli".
Just as he finished saying that Manning hit Tim Carter over the top for 45 yards. Theisman said, "Well, maybe not."

I was certain Eli was the right QB. And I agree with the OP on the favorite Eli throw. To me, it's the SB throw to Manningham. My favorite part is after the play, everyone on the Pats sideline is waving the play out of bounds, but Belichick stares at MM and just walks away. He knew it was a catch.

Dallas 09 (including autographing the lockerroom), NE '11. And the '16 Bears game in which Eli didn't play well for 3 quarters and then won the game in the 4th Q.

That game was incredible. I remember it every time someone tries to claim Big Ben was the better QB. He wasn’t. That game showed why.
