Giancarlo Stanton is flying to New York today, per Aaron Boone. He says "there's a chance" Stanton could be activated tomorrow, and "certainly" Thursday.

Great news!
Boone is still holding out hope he'll be back by the end of the regular season. He's doing some light work and rehabbing.
Edwin says he feels better every day - I think we'll see him before the end of September. He's not going to swing a bat this week. I think they know that he doesn't need a lot of time to get back into a groove. He just needs to be healthy.
Saving you for the playoffs.
I think he is at 60 pitches. So look for 70ish. Then a long reliever, maybe Cessa.
Exciting to see not so much this as his 2nd and 3rd start
Really hope Sevy doesn't get stuck in the first here.
DP. No harm done.
Now that the adrenaline is gone I think he gets the slider going.
Yes he does.
This dimension of the Yankees just really wasn't there last year. This team is much better rounded at the plate than last years team. They hit way better situationally.
But they can also just bludgeon the shit out of the opponent with the long ball.
Good stuff.
2-0, NYY

Severino looks pretty damn good.
Yes he does.
Honestly looks better than I expected. His slider is moving and he's got some life on the heater.
Now I just want him to come out of this pain free and I think we'd all exhale and start dreaming of his past season starts.
Suarez reminds me of Cortes with a better FB.
Now that the adrenaline is gone I think he gets the slider going.
I don't think there is anyway you could expect his slider to be sharp right off the bat. It's a total feel pitch and he won't get his best slider back until he gets some innings under his belt.

You are right. It looked VG in the 2nd and he kept working on it in the 3rd. The change will be a work in progress too.
You could see Boone asking him how he's feeling in the dugout and Sevy was very clearly saying he felt good and wants to keep going.
I wouldn't push him too far, but he's not throwing too many high stress pitches so far and he's settled in a bit. No problem with letting him go back out there for one more.

If they want to stretch him out, he needs to go out for the 4th. I don't think they are worried about him getting to 100. Looks like they will be using two starters per game in the playoffs, except Paxton. View from 314ft noted a SI article where Boone was talking about the way the Yanks will use the pitchers.
Just hit 99.
I think he'll be ready to go 100 in another start or two. I wouldn't push him that far tonight, though.
As long as Sevy says he feels good, and still feels good tomorrow... this was huge for us.
Just needs to keep working the slider and change.

Yup that was a great sign. As they said on the broadcast and Bill2 said at the top of the thread, now let’s see how he feels/looks in starts 2-3.
Huge seeing him get a chance to find it before the playoffs.

Absolutely wonderful to see the velo that last inning. Means he felt good and decided to cut loose.

Absolutely. Right now he looks great in the dugout. See how he feels tomorrow and Thursday...
5-0 Yanks.
