Ewing never elevated his game at the right time to be better than Jordan nor elevated his team to be better than the Bulls (or even the Rockets I guess in the Finals they made it to), whereas you can absolutely argue that Eli did accomplish that feat over football's GOAT, Tom Brady.
Eli had to Elevate his game.. Ewing played at an elevated level most of the time.. he couldn't elevate it even more.. if he could've he would've been Jordan.. and Jordan never lost any meaningful series in his prime.. never.. not when he was sick.. not when we was facing multiple all time greats.. never for any reason.. which is far from Brady.. who has lost (meaning not winning it all) 12 times in his prime.. Mark Sanchez's team beat him in the playoffs.. Don't give me Brady is the same as Jordan.. Football is a much more team oriented sport and no QB not even Brady can have as much influence as the best player on a Basketball court..
1994 NBA Finals - in 7 games Ewing had more rebounds and blocks (all time record at the time) than Olajowan who had more points.. I'd say that he played up to par..
was a better player at his sport/position than Eli.
I agree he doesn't have the brass, but Ewing won an NCAA title (and was an absolute force unseen since Bill Russell) and he has a gold medal for the Olympics.
2 gold medals.
Ewing was the better player. I don't even think that is open Â
for debate. However, I think even Ewing would take Eli's 2 rings above all else. Ewing, as great as he was, was one of the most underrated and underappreciated athletes while he was here.
He is the sole reason I am a Knicks fan. I was a Lakers fan as I grew up hearing stories about Lew Alcindor, so I love Jabbar and MAgic was my favorite player. But, as a middle school kid, when I started watching college hoops, it was all about Ewing and Georgetown. I was thrilled when he was drafted and enjoyed every game I watched him play.

This...
But this question is being asked at a place where a loud minority thinks Eli is/was on the same level as Brady.
Swap Scottie Pippen for Charles Smith and you think the Knicks don't win in '93?
If you rightly give Eli extra credit for the two SB runs, you have to at least acknowledge that those are the only two seasons in his career in which he won a playoff game.

And Pippen might have been the second best non-center in the league
Jordan retires and Ewing goes to the finals and almost wins. Bad call cost him game 2.

Eli had to go through Brady (GOAT?) and may be best team ever!

I'll take the rings

Sweet insult. Too bad I've never posted something "from reddit" in my life and I've been on the site maybe 10 times in my life. Bravo!
I won’t lie, i like reddit. Don’t post just browse. Some of it is juvenile to be kind but there’s good stuff to be had. Especially the pet gifs.
And Ewing was absolutely one of the best centers to ever play the nba game. He’s easily top ten. Easily.
This thread is generating some weird responses.

Let's call it a tie.
