Guy is a Giants legend. The Giants organization knows we are screwed this year based on what they have seen the first few weeks, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Putting Jones in is not an indictment of Eli, it’s saying we are done this year and want to get the kid in there so he gets some reps. With 60 million in cap room next year and more high draft picks we may actually be able to compete if he gets some reps in during a lost season.
This isn’t David Carr from years back when the Houston line was shit and the guys career was ruined. Jones will have the best RB in the game behind him and a solid line to protect him and hopefully keep him healthy. And honestly, if the guy blows, it’s a strong QB class next year. Odds are about 2% they would do it, but if they feel they blundered the Jones pick based on what transpires the next 14 weeks they could pull the trigger on another one.
I’m not totally disagreeing with you, but whether you think Eli is done or not, it makes total sense to put Jones in right now. That’s my point. Season’s over.
Compare that against Barkley's workload game 1 and 2.
I didn’t realize that in addition to playing QB, Jones is also an excellent edge rusher, cornerback and free safety. A steal with the 6th overall pick.

That's also the way you'd expect a coach to call most rookies' first game to ease their transition. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions if/when that does play out.
Jones plays defense too? Wow, who knew?
Yeah, the fact we had PS WRs playing as starters have nothing to do with it..SMH with the dumbness on here
Yeah "Coaches play harder"..Holy shit...LMAO
As long as we have no NFL WR's and a defense surrendering 28 points a game, we aren't winning jack shit.
Exactly, this was my point with this post. Whether you think Eli is done or not, we have no defense and that does not equate to a winning season. Why put Eli out there every week when you know this is his last year with the team and you have his successor in the wings in games you know you are likely going to lose. I kind of question why they kept Eli in the first place, but maybe they thought more of this defense. Personally, I think Bettcher sucks, but now that we have converted to a 3-4 I feel like our options for a new coordinator are kind of limited since most teams run a 4-3 scheme. If we hire another 4-3 guy we basically have a shitload of DT’s and a bunch of OLB’s trying to become successful undersized 4-3 DE’s.

They only scored 28 points. 30 wins it. Let's not pretend that's impossible.
Its moronic statements like this that really piss me off. The offense will be the same, this is about giving Jones experience since we suck.

He's been a moron ever since he first posted on here. Nothing but a troll and a sad ass one at that.

Ok so you are predicting that Jones will make no difference and the offense will continue to score 10 points per game. We will see

With those WR's. Yes. Impossible.
For all his faults and bad hair, McAdoo saw it in 2017. Mac was not a bad OC.
$17,000 in cap can get you a few pieces. No plan.
the HC is obligated to put the players on the field he thinks will win games
it is obvious that Giants have better chance to win with DJ than Manning
this is McAdoo decision all over again but this time the fans understand what coach saw 3 YEARS AGO
