He ranks 29th in yards per completion, and 27th in yards per attempt, 14th in yards.
The Giants have been passing the ball a lot, no doubt due in large part to falling behind by double digit scores in the first halves of each of the first two games.
It will be interesting to see how much that changes, if at all with Jones under center. Kyler Murray leads the NFL in pass attempts at the moment, and has ran 6 times for 17 yards, which is 16th in the NFL among quarterbacks.
In 2017 Case Keenum ran 40 times for 160 yards(16th among quarterbacks) for 4 yards a carry under Shurmur.
In 2018 Eli Manning ran 15 times for 20 yards(45th among quarterbacks), this year he has run 2 times for 8 yards(20th among quarterbacks).
Also, Barkley is currently second in the NFL in rushing yards, and 16th in rushing attempts, he is 3rd in yards from scrimmage.
The second line of your post is the troubling one and likely one of the reasons the Giants decided to make the move to Jones.
Eli ranks 29th in yards per completion and 27th in yards per attempt...
Keenum - Passer rating 111.2 ... QBR - 68.7..
Thats a backup level QB in the NFL outperforming Eli.. with a worse OL, Worse RB, worse TE and probably just as bad WR options.. If that doesn't tell you that Eli was part of the problem, I don't know will.. BTW we could've had Keenum for swap of 6th round pick for 7th and just $3.5M in salary cap.. with the $13.5M savings we could've easily gotten a RT or pass rushing help..

On the bright side, Ximines is outproducing Sweat and Allen this year, with much worse teammates on D.

Not smart to use a 2 game sample size but it does fit your agenda so...
He seems to do his best work when the game is already out of control or on initial drives handing off to Barkley
Come on man. This change was overdue
Eli should not have been retained. Those of us who have watched him erode into a check down back footed QB over the last years were calling for an upgrade many moons ago
Eli was well paid and has his two rings. The management decision to pursue another ring under his authority this year was very mis-guided. A desperate last chance power drive as Bruce Springsteen would lament by an owner who was not a football genius. Even Jerry Jones knew when it was time to send Tony packing.
Applaud Eli for the two sterling SB years and wish him the best.
Let's also wish Daniel Jones the best. The booing of Jones at Yankee Stadium was baseless and cast a bad light on NY fans in general.
Other than the fumble in week one, I've seen nothing from Daniel Jones play I have not liked, and have been pleasantly suprised by.
He seems very astute and accomplished for such a young guy.
Lets wish him well

Would you like me to use a 3 year sample size? I think Eli has finished in the mid to late 20's in terms of ranking each of the last 3 years..

And Mr. Agenda himself would know!
I think you misunderstood the point of my post. It was to point out how inefficient the passing game has been through the first two games, it’s high volume/low yield. It will be interesting to see the degree to which the offense changes with Jones at quarterback. We haven’t been throwing it under 10 yards and getting tackled almost immediately most plays, resulting in little yac(Tate would have helped here, and hopefully Slayton down the road). I’m not sure if the lack of going further downfield is reluctance on Eli’s part or WRs inability to get open deeper down the field, or play calling. Will be interesting to see if any of that changes going forward. The WRs are average right now, and that’s being complimentary....until guys start coming back in the fold we may see more of Jones running ability than we’d like to see in the next few games, out of necessity.

What is his passing efficiency in 1st halves and 1st half scoring

I appreciate the post. You didn't seem to have an agenda either way and point out the positive and the negative.
One play that came to MY mind was a RIDICULOUS screen play where Eli just threw it at the back of Barkleys feet. At that play I was calling for Jones and I'm A HUGE Eli supporter. I didn't think the play was that busted and its friggin Barkley let him do something with it if that is the shit play the coach is going to call.
A little while later I believe it was 3rd and 8 or nine and Eli throws it to Fowler who is a good 3 to 5 yards short of the first down marker, but he seems to be the primary target. I yelled so load I scared my kids. Fowler proceeded to drop it which was the icing on the cake. Just bad play calling bad execution bad all around and this from our 'better unit'. Couldn't even watch the defense.
I'm thinking about it
I think the season can be salvaged if Jones plays like he did in pre-season and Tate is back. Tate is one of the best YAC WRs in the NFL and Jones throws a leading pass.
The D showed a lot of front 7 effort last week. If the DBs can get their act together this D could be ok. I'm seeing a lot of missed assignments not lack of athleticism. Also for goodness sake play some tight man to man.
Also delayed blitzes and stunts on the pass rush on 3rd down.
Lets hope we turn this around. I dont want to be playing for draft position
Also the Bucs have a solid D roster.
This will be a tough test for Jones. He will be pressured.
It’s done. He’s out. You guys can stop proving what a bad player he is now. You’re beating a dead horse. Let it go.
But he's been playing from behind for nearly ALL of the last 8 seasons. He has relived the nightmares of his fathers past, after 7 glorious years to start his career.
2011. God damn, he was DOMINANT.
In 2011, Eli Manning was a literal football ZOMBIE. Unkillable. Tied Johnny Fucking Unitas's record for 4th quarter comebacks. THAT GOOD. Gave us more thrills in that single seasons than most QB's manage in a LIFETIME.
8 seasons is an eternity in football. And for 8 years, the Giants fed him God-Awful offensive lines and a slowly declining defense, and he was not getting younger.
He's suffered enough - we've suffered enough. Who wants to see Eli Manning put out there in a virtual hurricane of a football season, playing from behind every fucking week, throwing far more than any QB should and getting the snot pounded out of him, facefirst into the turf with a fucking elephant on his back, slowly up on his knees, then standing - looking at a scoreboard that reads Giants 17 Visitor 41, shrugging, and heading back to the huddle.
I think getting paid millions to hold a clipboard is well overdue, well earned.
Thank you, Captain.
IMO, this points to both a problem with Eli and the coaching
