please make sure someone is watching you for stroke symptoms. Or spontaneous combustion. You’ve really got your atoms stirred up about this and I’m concerned
#1- this is a young team all around and they have their young leader on the field. The energy alone should be a huge help. Plus, I re-watched the Bills game and there were a lot places things could have swung our way.
The defense has to help but, the Giants have to learn to keep the gas pedal down and once you score, you get the ball back and attack again. I think youthful energy can play a role here.
Of course should we win, it will be, “look eho we beat.”
Which is ridiculous. Playing Tampa in September in an Indian Summer is a difficult task. They are also vastly improved. Can shut down the run, Arians has had a good effect on Jameis already, he actually ate the ball a bunch against Carolina last week. Very talented skills group. They may win the South this year because it is in shambles.
I know it was only preseason, but you can't deny that there was a noticeable difference in enthusiasm level from when Eli ran the offense to when DJ ran the offense. I think you will see a different team take the field on Sunday.
Can't take this shit defense on the road and expect a win, unless Jameis throws us five picks. I think we'll beat Washington, and probably lose the next two. 1-5 after six games.
I'm not thinking about if the Giants are going to win right now -- I just want to see them be more competitive. I fully expect Jones to be making mistakes , but I want to see if he provides the team with a spark.
Once I start seeing that - then I'm gonna start pulling for wins.

For the Giants to be at all competitive, it's the defense that is going to have to figure some things out.
A better offense can help the defense - but we got on the board quickly in each of the first two games only for the defense to turn around and almost immediately start allowing TD drive after TD drive. Didn't matter where the starting FP was, didn't matter if they were in 3rd and longs... the defense has not been able to stop a damn thing.
I'm actually not terribly concerned about the offense. I think once Jones gets some games under his belt and we get Tate and Shepard back (and hopefully Slayton) and there are a few more targets there, we will manage to score some points.
I just have no faith in the defense being able to get any sort of meaningful stop right now. I do expect them to get better as the year goes on...but what's going on back there right now is inexcusable and we can't be competitive until that gets cleaned up.
Really there are so many variables here it's hard to predict the score of this game.
Lets hope the Giants improve on both sides of the ball and no one gets hurt.
As for Jones- If he plays like he did this summer, the Bucs will be looking like we have the 1st 2 games- lost losers. We are not playing the Chiefs or Patriots. The Bucs are a mediocre team.
I think Buffalo and the Boys are playoffs bound
One can only hope and pray. It will be interesting.
If they let them play 18 guys on defense all at once, Â
aggressive posture this week. Shurmur alluded to it by saying they would play more press coverage. If Jones has to make up for a terrible defense, that is a lot to ask for a guy in his first start.
Not sure. Will the defense get their asses in gear? Â
If players think that the change is made because Jones's athleticism offers something Eli's experience doesn't at this point, it might.
If this is taken as giving up on the season, even though it is obvious that the Giants' aren't likely to do much, it will likely inspire a season of lackadaisical play. No player in the NFL is so uncompetitive as to be willing to lay it out for 14 games "to see what we have for next year".
And if the team takes it like O'Hara, as "the defense sucks but I can't fix that so let's try changing QB's" Shurmur will lose the locker room before the week is out and this will be the worst Giants team ever. (And I remember when Gary Wood was the QB)
I do think this somehow kicks the rest of the team in the ass and they come to play for the new kid in town.
Go Giants!
That said, if Shep, Lattimer and Slayton all play, who knows.
The defense needs to get their shit together but it's not like Jameis is Tom Brady.

Really?? By that thought we should have lost the last two SB's we were in too.
it would have to be a 40-35 win.
And if any of those things break our way, Coach will use #26 as a decoy.

A win is very unlikely.

Unlikely doesn't mean impossible.
"Ask Again Later"

Final Giants 34 Bucks 31

New York Giants 17
Cmon I think that is ridiculous. 13 should get it done.
Or run a pass route and create space from defender. Maybe he can throw it to himself!!
New York Giants 17
Yeah I get it
Its hard to imagine the Giants beating anyone. We are steeped in a losing culture
This will be interesting
I actually think we lose a shoot out. If I was betting I'd take the over.

I wish I felt differently.
Even with SS and Tate, we really don't have the receivers for a shootout.

Can't use that excuse for the Giants this year only vs Miami 😉
