There are a large number of Giants fans who are equally Eli fans, that was more evident than ever the last few days since the announcement of the change.
I can not remember another time since 1956, when I first became a fan, of any other Giant whose eventual benching caused such a stir, in 17 and now.
The emotions run so deep that I heard some fans yesterday suggesting, almost hoping, the Eli era is not over, Jones will get hurt.
I loved Eli, but not anymore than some of the other great Giants quarterbacks l, and other great players I ve rooted for.

the playoff game in 2016 where Eli showed up big time only to have his receiving core let him down. That is why they stayed with Eli, his ability to step up when the situation called for it, they absolutely could have won that game.

Which in hindsight was probably a mistake. Green Bay's pass defense was atrocious that year by that point. They were starting safeties at corner in their secondary. Eli played well no doubt, but he should have. Our Wr's certainly shit the bed, but the offense looked like dogshit after Green Bay started bracket coverage on Odell. Should have been a sign.
