what has improved so far?
IMHO the O line play is much improved from last year. We played 2 pretty good Ds and no real jail breaks.
Odiously WR's are a weak point especially with Tate suspended. and trading OBJ makes them average.
Barkley nuff said! TE over all improved Engram has to stay healthy.
special teams coverage has been consistently solid from my eye ball test. I'm not sure about stats in terms of punting yardage or kick off yardage but the actual coverage has been solid and last week's punt returner Jones lit it up. I think Jones found a role but the kick returner is still a work in progress. Rosas can't miss like last week.
The D has taken a step back but mostly the pass D is horrendous ,no shit right! Is it Bettchers fear that the rush can't get home the reason for so much zone cause their CB's strengths are press man coverage? Safetys still look like shit and run support was better with Collins.
How about pre seaason? Was the success the result of the bottom of the roster being much improved while the starters are still below the leagues best?
Good core to build around.
I really hope Jones doesn’t run to much. I’ll accept it if it’s near the end of a game in a big do or die spot.
I really just want him to extend plays with his legs to get people open. That is all I am looking for.
The people thinking we will have him run read options are delusional. We don’t need the QB taking any extra hits.
RPOs are a different story. You don’t actually have to have the QB run when you use them as many people confuse them with Read Options.
On D there is nowhere to go but up...lol. Our core DL is solid and should get better as the season goes on but they are just run stoppers. The pass rush is weak, Carter hasnt taken the big step yet. Golden doesnt seem to be starter quality, he is a nice 2nd stringer but not a guy you want as your #1. Xman will have his moments but you cant expect much.
MLBs are just not play makers. Connelly is not NFL strong yet, needs a full offseason but as a rookie he is better than expected.
The DBs are just making too many mistakes from top to bottom. If we are going to get shitty play out of Bethea we may as well play Love to get him ready for next season. At least it will tell us if we need to bring a guy in. I would like to see ballentine get more time than he has. Baker simply has not earned his spot. I'm not giving up on the kid I just think he needs to take a step back and have him come in in certain spots till he gets his NFL legs. Right now he is a target and will continue to be.

This is what I'm hoping for as well, and what I meant when I said mobile QB. He's still 6'5. He's a big dude, he's built like a pocket passer but has mobility.

Britt welcome to the dark side 😃
Based on what, haven't seen squat from bettcher that gives me any confidence. Let's see if he can at least get them looking like an NFL level defense, right now they are high school bad.
The defensive line has been the only bright spot on defense, outside of that everything has been an issue, Lorenzo Carter has played decent and I think everyone else on the second level and beyond has struggled in some capacity.
Think about this, watch the Giants receivers when they are targeted, and compare that to when the opposing teams receivers are targeted. Giants receivers seem to have a guy right on their hips most of the time to contest a catch, or make an immediate tackle. Opposing teams receivers seem to have all this space and room to catch the ball and continue running. That is the thing that stands out most to me through two weeks, it looks like pitch and catch and run for the opposing team and for us it looks like a struggle to find someone running open beyond 10 yards of the line. The guys who seem to be wide open most often are sitting in between two zone defenders and then getting hit.
He's the common denominator.

his snaps haven't been very good, nothing horrible. But that really high snap, I believe, threw off the timing of that kick Sunday.

LOL very good!
