It is interesting

The number of x giant players that seem to be pissed because they were let go from the giants. They are hung up on it. They keep making statements to the media. Players let go from other teams do not seem to hung up about being let go.
NYC isn't for everyone

but the number of opportunities in just about any facet of life here are exponential compared to other places. They realize it when they're gone, it's like letting the right girl go when you shouldn't have.
That they cannot let it go after getting better contracts

is proof possible to me, that letting them go was tge prudent decision
except they're the ones who were dumped

In small cities, downtown is a ghost town after 6 PM. Not to mention the Tiki/Strahan media opportunities.

To quote the Ramones "New York City really has it all".

How many small cities have NFL teams?
This isn't about leaving NYC....it is about Dave Gettleman
Zeke's Alibi : 9/19/2019 10:37 am : link
Prior history with his players shows that. They don't like how he operates when it comes to cutting ties.
I think they also feel like they were scapegoated
Greg from LI : 9/19/2019 10:38 am : link
With all of Gettleman's "culture!" blathering
Most people who get let go from any company
Rudy5757 : 9/19/2019 10:44 am : link
have resentment towards that company. No one ever takes the blame and sees themselves as the problem. They expect the GM to lay out his plans with them and its not always a good plan for the organization to do that. I'm sure that DG handled it poorly as well by letting players hear the news in the media instead of a call or a face to face. But not all players are complaining so it leads me to believe that the ones that are really were the problem.

I think this is overblown. OBJ and Landon have been bitching
mfsd : 9/19/2019 11:34 am : link
who else? Has Olivier Vernon made a peep about being traded? Did Devon Kennard bitch about DG not talking to him before he signed elsewhere as a free agent?

I think we have 2 guys acting like jilted lovers, for different reasons. Most have more important things on their minds, like continuing their careers elsewhere
Just saw the Flowers comment

but as far as that loser, whatever

Good point on Kennard, and an argument could be made that he should have been re-signed.
There really hasn’t been any surprise cuts or trades.
Ivan15 : 9/19/2019 12:40 pm : link
The closest ”surprise” was not offering Collins something competitive, but Collins wasn’t a complete safety and didn’t want to play LB where he was better suited. I don’t see how Washington can justify paying him that much.

Everyone else, Beckham, Harrison, Apple, Vernon, Flowers, Hart, either fell short on performance or attitude or both.
'pissed because they were let go from the giants'
Torrag : 9/19/2019 12:44 pm : link
Play better, behave professionally, and conduct yourself well. Those that are gone generally failed to meet one or more of those criteria. Bye.

Yup he sure looks like he’d fit well with this defense. It’s reasonable to question the decisions DG has made about roster to date, that’s a good example. I just don’t think a couple vocal sourpusses has much to do with whether or not he’s making good decisions.

What matters is the results on the field. So far, mostly shit. But if Jones works out at QB, a lot can be forgiven
