Today on the GM Shuffle Podcast with Michael Lombardi, Virk goes on the the record and says.
“I’ll go on the record right now with you Mr. Lombardi. I don’t think he’s gonna be good. I don’t think he’s gonna be good this year. I don’t think he’s gonna be good next year. I don’t think he’s gonna be a good starting Quarterback in the NFL PERIOD. I think it was a joke that the Giants took him that high, I would of taken Haskins. If you think Daniel Jones is going to turn that franchise around, you are sorely mistaken.”
I am hoping though that he surprises them all.
I guess we'll see.
Must be his Patriots ties...

if you don't know this is still a possibility you are in la la land. There is a chance Daniel Jones can't do it. The selection was way out of line with how most viewed him.
I am hoping though that he surprises them all.
He seems to have been a polarizing prospect. Some people REALLY liked him. A lot of people really didn't.
I guess we'll see.
I'm being honest... there were not that many people that really liked him other than Gil Brandt and his coach at Duke. even Cosell had a lot of reservations about him. But they could all be wrong and he can be fantastic.. of course. Happens all the time. The preseason was a good first step.
It’s like starting a thread that your neighbor’s cousin doesn’t like Jones. Why does that matter?

Virk actually hosted college football for ESPN for at least a year or so. So he was certainly aware of Jones.
Not suggesting he's an expert but he wasn't just a baseball guy.

Why are we sharing the opinion of Adnan Virk again?
Does anyone have any idea who this guy is? I don't. Does he have any sort of track record when it comes to football?
I just found it hilarious that this dude, with no football resume to speak of, can say shit like this.
Anyone can say shit like this. That's how it works.
And someone on BBI heard it, posted a thread on it, and here we all are talking about it. Newsflash - it worked. If you think it's hilarious, how do you think he feels? He got paid for it, and we're all annoyed for free.
Really?

I would of taken Haskins.
Really?
I think that's probably a transcription error. And one that 70% (conservatively) of this thread (and probably the general population) doesn't realize is an error at all. And of those that do, some portion would probably tell you they "could care less."

But why start a thread to discuss the opinion of a guy most people have never heard of, and those that have know he is a baseball guy?

He was a rising personality at ESPN until his termination
you take josh allen dummy, then at 17 you take best tackle or olb available in that alternate timeline.
how do you go on to say how silly it was to take jones at 6 but follow it with "i'd of taken haskins"???
"I think Daniel Jones is gonna be a helluva quarterback"
"has everything you look for"
"Had nothing around him at Duke and still performed"
"Great size & love his mobility"
Seemed incredibly genuine (actually walked around and mingled; really nice guy)
"I have no idea why the media ragged him on. They pick certain guys and run with it."
On Eli - "It was time"
Hey, anyone can be right or wrong. But Jaws thinks Jones is gonna be a big time player. Jazzed me up more than the budweisers.
It's funny, because I think people who take zero pride in their ability to communicate properly and avoid the lazy temptation to colloquialize everything are annoying. Slightly behind innumerates - very slightly.
To each their own.
"would of?"
Really?!
Dumbass~
Poor grammar harms one's credibility and makes them look uneducated or careless. If a person can't be bothered to learn how to communicate properly why should I take their opinion seriously?
Adnan Virk spelled backwards is ....Nanda Kriv.
Go figure.
Hsilwek92, erlaube mir, deine Frage zu beantworten, mein Freund.
Culturally, the term "Soup Nazi" found it's way into the zeitgeist by way of a Seinfeld episode.
The "Soup" in "Soup Nazi" came from the fact that the person to whom the expression refers sold soup.
The "Nazi" part of the term is used as an exaggeration of the excessively strict regimentation that the soup seller constantly demanded of his patrons. (cf. Grammar Nazi).
Using the antecedent explanation as reference, simply extrapolate the usage of the word "Nazi" and insert the word "Grammar" in front of it.
You'll arrive at someone whose exaggeration of their excessively strict regimentation of the whole system and structure of language makes them a "Grammar Nazi."
No heiling, nein, leck meine Stiefel, du Schweinehund, just a comedic phrase that illustrates the excessive, overwrought
systematizing and enforcing of the rules and structume of the English language, consisting of syntax and morphology (including inflections) and sometimes also phonology and semantics.
Wenn du verstehst, du Schwachsinniger, streck deine rechte Hand gerade aus und klick deine Heilungen zusammen.
Nope. He said "not next year" also. Unless we got QB on the first round again, that is. And this time, we better draft whoever the disgraced baseball writer tells us to draft.
He's the Swedish Chef
That was also my reaction.
I kind of agree with him on one thing, I don't expect DJ to be very good this season. Just get his feet wet, and be ready to take a leap next year.
Even if he said it prior to the preseason, it would have held more weight. Right now? Just seems dumb.
A Canadian midget who used to be a baseball 'expert' on ESPN.
Virk isn't a Sri Lankan sounding name in the least.
