YouTube highlights. I never paid one iota of a second on his OTAs, minicamp or camp practice. All I have ever seen of DJ was his work in preseason games and a few moments of his regular season.

I'm being honest... there were not that many people that really liked him other than Gil Brandt and his coach at Duke. even Cosell had a lot of reservations about him. But they could all be wrong and he can be fantastic.. of course. Happens all the time. The preseason was a good first step.

Virk actually hosted college football for ESPN for at least a year or so. So he was certainly aware of Jones.

I listen to this podcast & I think it’s incredibly weak Lombardi hasn’t called him out on this. I read Lombardi’s articles leading up to the draft on The Athletic where he made it clear he preferred Jones to Haskins.

I kind of agree with him on one thing, I don't expect DJ to be very good this season. Just get his feet wet, and be ready to take a leap next year.

Listening to that GM podcast. It's just a weird hill for a host of a podcast, who doesn't have much extensive football experience or knowledge, to die on this hill. Especially given the good things we saw out of Jones this preseason.
