Giants 27, Bucs 21.
Jones leads us on a GW drive after we get the ball back down 1 with 3 minutes and change left. Last second Winston heave is intercepted by Baker.
(This is my ideal game. But dammit it I'm not going to try to will it into existence. Haha.)
What say you? I actually think this really will be a close game.
Barkley lone TD ...
Jones with a couple of picks ...
NYG 13
Jones’ debut is a nightmare..3 turnovers
Barkley with a 60 (plus) yard TD run
NYG D makes Winston look competent
NY 9
The D comes thru with a pick at the end to preserve the win
38-23 Bucs

There's going to be a shit ton of heated debate on here on Monday, whether Jones throws for 400 yards and 5 TDs or 125 yards and 3 INTs.
if he throws 400/5 there isn't going to be much debate. People are going to be losing their shit.
Haha, you don't know BBI too well. Just look at all the back and forth after a handful of preseason snaps.
It's the second time in 15 years someone other than Eli is starting a game for the Giants, and the last one was in a complete clusterfuck of a season with a temporary QB.
Here are your outcomes:
- Jones has a great outing, and a third of the board will be touting Gettleman's supreme vision in selecting the next face of the franchise, while another third will be reminding everyone that one game is too soon to make any declarative statements.
- Jones has a terrible outing, and a third of the board will be bashing Gettleman's failed vision in selecting the next face of the franchise, while another third will be reminding everyone that one game is too soon to make any declarative statements.
...in either of these two - the remaining third of BBI will eat popcorn and observe.
And in the most likely scenario - Jones has a mediocre game, 33% say it was stupid to bench Eli this early, 33% say Jones will never amount to anything, and 33% start compiling lists of 2020 draft prospects.
Defense continue to look horrible
106 yards rushing 2td
Jones 24-30 312 yards 2tds 1pick 1 fumble (giants recover)
31 - 27 giants
Mike Francesa herniates a goiter and is put-down, as a WFAN spokesperson explained, "we simply didn't want there to be any more suffering."
When asked exactly who was suffering the spokesperson replied, "those of us who are forced to have anything to do with him at the station and, of course, all of our listeners
who have put up with his bullshit for so long that the rule of law regarding cruel and unusual punishment was being violated everytime our engineers opened his mic."
Thanks for your take, September 2019.
As a result, Jones checks down a lot (BBI explodes at this, not the receivers) but also fumbles once.
DJ's first shot at a win is next week against the Skins.
Giants 17
And it may not be that close.
Stay tuned....
Medic!
With no pass rush and a secondary that is lost, Bettcher Boys will get worn down in the Tampa heat. Winston is a turnover machine, but only when he is uncomfortable in the pocket making bad decisions. This Sunday, he won't have to worry about any pressure.
Arians goes up a few scores and Shurmur suddenly forgets that Barkley is on the team minimizing his touches in the second half. Jones will be fine. I expect a fumble from under center. But the end result, we leave Tampa with the loss and a swamp ass.
DJ provides some spark (1 TD pass) but also has two turnovers (1 INT and 1 fumble) and gets sacked four times.
Barkley held to under 100 as the Bucs stack the box.
And our D will do next to nothing to stop those f**king cannons going off.
Giants 28
Bucs 23
It’s turnaround time for both of us!

A bad performance doesn't mean much.
If by miracle the defense plays well and we lose something like 17-10 because the offense sucked in part due to DJ it will mean much as the media will go back to PS and use his quotes about giving us the best chance to win. Remember the media is great about second guessing.
Have you watched the last 2 years? No FG kicker has missed anything against us in the last seconds even if its 60+ yards.

that was the softest "give the best chance to win" answer possible
I'm not sure if that was because he didn't want to shit on Eli or didn't want to admit they are playing him for experience, but it was answered so wishy washy that it shouldn't get thrown back in his face.

You think a jerk like Pat Leonard is going to miss an opportunity to throw this back at him?

Bucs miss wide right from 47 yards out in the closing seconds.

You missed the irony with my post. The Giants beat the Bills in Tampa in the super bowl by a score of 20-19 because of Norwood wide right on a 47 yard FG. It is kind of a big deal in NY Giants history. Look it up.

Predicting the media is the easiest part - they're going to either pat themselves on the back for saying that Jones should have been starting all along, or bash Shurmur for benching Eli.
Would like it more if Tampa were 2-0 rather than 1-1.
Giants defense will start to play better IMO.......
Defense looks decent for 1.5 qtrs, then falls apart. DJ sustains drives to keep the D off the field but 3 of them end in FG's.
24-13.
LGG!!
The D comes thru with a pick at the end to preserve the win
Congrads score spot on !
