"Tiki and Tierney discuss the New York Giants decision to bench Eli Manning for rookie quarterback Daniel Jones."
I thought this segment was interesting, especially since Tiki was around for the transition from Kerry Collins to Eli Manning. Now he is providing his honest opinion on the current transition process. And while there are many, who still consider Tiki a pariah, I find his opinion on this to be one that most Giants fans would agree with.

Definitely not as bitter.
When he commented about Strahan's contract negotiation: He honestly believed Strahan should be more focused on football, but he should have just STFU.
When he said the giants were "out coached": This is probably his most bitter moment, but he was probably more pissed about losing than anything else. And he was probably right. And he should have just STFU.
When he "announced" his retirement early: He didn't really announce it all. A reporter was shadowing him for a day and asked him whether he was retiring based on the way he was talking. So Tiki admitted that he was. But he should have just STFU. Some people think he leaked it on purpose to try and build more hype for a post playing career, which, if true, wouldn't have been a bitter move.
When he said Eli was "comical" during his rookie here in the huddle: I mean, lets be honest, Eli has a pretty goofy low key demeanor, it probably did seem "comical" to the vets. Especially those used to Shockey also being the huddle. But once again, he should have just STFU.
Now I don't think he liked playing for TC (no surprise), but I don't think its bitterness that causes his comments. I think he honestly believes what he says is true and doesn't know when to STFU.

Correct. I never thought he was bitter, either. I think as far as bitterness dying down some it's been the other way around. The NY fans not as militantly anti-Tiki as they used to be (with a fair share of hold-outs).
He could have had a Strahan-like post NFL career except he is too honest and not political correct fake enough.
He was a name brand for his NFL career, but he just doesn't have the 'it' factor when it comes to being on screen.

That's the ultimate irony - Strahan has had the post NFL career Tiki was meticulously trying to craft for himself.
As to leaking and confirming his retirement during the season, he was entitled to a farewell tour and when would you have preferred him to announce it? Before the season, he probably wasn't sure he wanted to retire. After the season, there would have been a whole offseason of speculation about whether he was really serious. I actually think the announcement, such as it was, was well timed.

My bad ....
"Any analyst worth his weight ... like myself."
His bitterness or ours?
My bad ....
The Giants offered Collins the opportunity of staying and being the "mentor" until Eli was ready, but he didn't want that role and chose to move on. Collins was the Giants starter that was being replaced with Eli, Warner only entered the picture once Collins decided he didn't want to stay. So while technically yes Eli took over for Warner, he did in fact replace Collins in the organization.
He couldn’t have handled his transition out of football worse if he had meant to do it. He was an arrogant ass. The situation of leaving your pregnant wife even if it had nothing to do w bis work awning a broadcaster wasn’t very helpful.
He did it to himself. He surely paid a price. And it doesn’t mean he can’t have good insight on this or other football issue. He just learned a hard hard lesson.
