NFT: Question for BBI re: mass producing an idea

Hey guys,

I have an idea about a small piece of furniture I'd like to build and maybe eventually sell. It fits a niche and if I build a prototype, how do I go about finding a way to get it mass-produced for relatively cheap?

Thanks
The design is

the first and easiest part, the manufacturing is more entailed but the third by far the most difficult is the marketing aspect. Build your proof of concept and start with furniture trade fairs and get involved with others there. If you finance it yourself be prepared for the long haul.

Ok how do i find a manufacturer who will make it for me on a large scale and not steal the idea for themselves?

Thanks. I think we have a grasp on the marketing. It's just the labor of scaling the production I'm stuck on. It takes me about 10-15 hours to build one unit.

Should be working on your margins and ROI including production costs. Hitting the market with those kinds of production times can be burdensome.

goal is to manufacture your own product and reduce production time then CNC is the way to go. Contact anyone of the many CNC manufacturers at the tech/service dept. level, not sales. They can put you on to used equipment with a service agreement.

If your goal is to have someone else do the manufacturing go offshore. Pacific rim countries, not China. There are agencies that can help with that.

Start small is my best advice...even Bezos started by selling used books from his garage via the HP and Apple model.

Of course it's hard to really say without knowing any of the details but if it is a small niche product you may want to consider building less with more attention to higher quality and go for high margins opposed to looking to mass produce for cheap pricing.

Play around with the numbers but large volume will exponentially increase many other hidden expenses as well. Smaller, higher quality, with higher margins has it's place and can be easier controlled. You just have to spend a lot of time doing the math do decide advantages/disadvantages of different strategies.

I wish you well
Thanks guys
