Not the short video that NFL Films put out by the longer, game-by-game DVD if you have it.
Eli should have been league MVP that year. Eight 4th-quarter comebacks... no running game or defense during the regular season. He - along with Cruz, Nicks, Manningham, and Ballard - carried that team to the division title.
It was the pinnacle of Eli's career.
Tom Brady, peyton manning, Aaron Rodgers have had many seasons playing at a similar level consistently.
So we are back to giving eli the praise for 1 game but last 7 years it was not him but the front office?
I don’t dispute that. But, Aaron Rodgers was the undisputed mvp during the regular season. One of the best regular season qb performances ever. Anyways, Eli won the award that matter
Even if it was about the complete season eli was not close to Rodgers and breese that year
Green By offense also came out flat in those 2011 playoffs...maybe from the week off
Green Bay also scored two touchdowns on a terrible non fumble call and an egregious roughing the passer (when Rodgers was out of the pocket) on Umenyiora.
A similar example could be for Peyton’s year in 2014, he had a horrible Super Bowl, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have won the MVP for his record setting year.

Come on Junior, you never even had the makings of a varsity player.
He has two Championships but is a 500 regular season quarterback. He was great in the play offs, but only won a play off game in 2 of 15 plus seasons as Giants quarterback.
Why can’t his supporters and his critics just accept him for what he was.
By the way the criticism of Jones as a fumbler kind of makes me laugh when you consider how often Eli fumbled.

Your posts are great. Always able to give good insight in matters. I salute you sir
And this is the best reason why Rodgers was NFL MVP
The Giants beat Atlanta 27-2 largely on Eli dominating a full game. He had 277 yds and 3 TD and a 129 qb rating
No 4th quarter comeback reqired
Put those numbers over 16 games and you get 4432 yds and 46 TD or basically Rodgers season

and took them right down to the wire, scoring a lot of points on them albeit losing. I am sure that gave Giants a whole lot of confidence to play them again. Similar to Pats matchup in 2007.

Yep. Refs gifted that first game to GB over the Giants. And they were trying their damnedest to influence the playoff game to GB... lol
Game. Set. Match.
Take your Eli hate someplace else.

Eli kicked Rodgers ass in the playoff game. I know the MVP is determined before then, but Eli showed up in the playoffs and Rodgers didn't. Case closed.

No. Sounds like you want to promote a different agenda.
My point is clear. Eli's MVP season carried the NYGs to a Super Bowl.
Don't know where 8 is coming from...
League Leaders - ( New Window )
I didn't realize it was that many. I recall maybe one...?

Damn. Only 5??

You know who else outplayed the league mvp and other QBs in route to a sb?
Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson
The giants defense in the 2011 playoffs was phenomenal and the fact you overlooked that to give eli some sort of pre Jones start send off is weak
Eli gets huge props for niner game but he could not move the ball much of the game and what unit allowed tynes to win the game?
You say eli outplayed Rodgers but eli not the one who had to stop an mvp who had a regular season for the ages. But it was eli that won that ring right?

Eric, I think you letting bias cloud your judgement regarding the regular season mvp award by mentioning playoff games. Rodgers was close to a unanimous choice for mvp, with only brees being the other option. I dont think you'd find any objective person who would say Eli deserved MVP over Rodgers. But this doesn't mean Eli didnt have an amazing year and was the top performer in the playoffs, which he was rewarded for by SB MVP.
God himself delivered Eli Manning to us and he rewarded us with a two-time Super Bowl MVP, who CLEARLY was the best QB of all playoff QBs in both 2007 and 2011. Moreover, when you take into account the playoffs in 2011, no one was better.
Eli was fantastic in the 2007 playoffs. But he carried the 2011 team to the playoffs and once there, carried them a step further.
My MVP wins playoff games and world championships. He throws to Kevin Boss, David Tyree (TD and "the catch"), and Plaxico for the win in 2007. He throws perhaps the greatest pin-point pass in Super Bowl history in 2011.
Bitch and moan all you want. I'm going to sleep well tonight. And thank God for Eli Manning.
Good night.

Yep he was unanimous maybe until he shit the bed in the playoffs. Not quite sure what your agenda is against Eli since you are arguing the same crap with me in the Eli/Favre thread. Let it go my man.

I don't think I even posted on that thread, but whatever. And what does my post have to do against Eli. I said he was the best qb in the playoffs outdueling Brady and Rodgers. But Rodgers was the rightful mvp because you know it's a regular season award and playoff performance doesn't factor in. Both can be true and in fact are

Yup thank God for eli winning us those 2 rings and screw the rest of the team for ruining the last 8 years of this amazing qb
The latest in a line of dupes created for one purpose.
Arguing with a troll is fruitless, especially one who casually tosses aside two SB wins and two super bowl MVP's.
The Eli Manning Era is over yet some of these ridiculous posters still come to take a shit.

Well the thread is about Eli Manning's 2011 season, and the OP denotes he should have been league MVP.
So opinions will come in...even ones you may not like.

Yep I quoted your post accidentally. I meant to quote one of junior22's posts.
Really not worth the time, even though it can be difficult to not engage with such foolish takes.
Oh well.

Even if he does really thank God, oh well?

Well, God did hand deliver us Eli. Whatever that means. lol.
Even if he does really thank God, oh well?
No, it didn't occur because he wasn't.
No big deal, as it only came out because he was hotly debating another poster who he felt was downplaying Eli's great 2011 year.
It actually sounds like we have a lot of morons that manifests itself in a lot of strange ways.
Wish they could have seen it. Wish they could see this new start today.
