Problems with jumping snap count

Zeke's Alibi : 9/23/2019 11:44 pm
I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned in Sys review and was hoping he'd possibly had answer, but someone is doing something that the Bucs caught on tape that is giving away the snap count. The tackles had almost impossible jobs because of this. I hope they can self scout it whether it is DJ or someone on the line.

Seemed like they were jumping as well.
It is Zeitler standing up to reset

That starts the countdown....they need to then vary snap count to counter this...draw the opposing D a few times to keep them guessing.

I kind of thought that may be it.
I am rather surprised that NYG QC guy has not implemented that.

However, the very long "get the play into the QB" happened again to DJ....IOW, not an Eli thing...it is a system thing ...can't do long snap counts when the clock is winding down .
I'm not sure it is the Zeitler thing though, he's been doing it

forever. It's gotta be something else.
Yeh the Zeitler thing is just something he does while he's getting set

There's something else going on.
Just before the snap,

Halapio ducks his head and brings it back up. 1 beat later he snaps the ball. Never mind Zeitler, it Halapio.
Yeah i also noticed

The center ducking his head before snaps - seemed mostly on shotgun to check where qb was maybe, but it’s a dead giveaway as the timing was always the same.

Noticed Zeitler shifting too but i dont think that was it - tho i keep thinking he’s gunna get flagged...

One way to counter that is quit the reliance on DJ in shotgun. Put him under center.
It's probably

A combination of the two. Zeitler, communicates with the qb, then does his stance reset, then count 1-one thousand, 2-one thousand, 3-one thousand and the ball is snapped. The confirmation that the snap is coming is when halapio moves us head when the QB is in s-gun.
It seemed to me

Barrett was offsides a few times and was not called except once.

Speaking of Barrett, I was really hoping we would have tried to pick him up as a FA. It seemed like no one was willing to give him a long term contract, so why didn’t we offer him a 2 year contract? Oh well.....

A two year contract for a guy who had 5 very unremarkable years for the Broncos? He had to play the final preseason game to even be assured of making the Bucs 53 man. Don't act like anyone saw this coming with him.

So you want to change the entire offense after one game, and what Jones is really good at...lol.

It was Shurmur who said that in order to play QB in the NFL that they have to know how to play under center. Time to take the training wheels off and increase the plays from under center. By the way, Shurmur's "entire offense" isn't from the shotgun.
