if his spleen is back to normal there’s no more risk now than pre mono. And no way does Woody want empty stadiums this early, lost season or not. They need Darnold.
Don't worry about empty seats, I'm sure 50% or more of Â
if his spleen is back to normal there’s no more risk now than pre mono. And no way does Woody want empty stadiums this early, lost season or not. They need Darnold.
But isn’t it very hard to determine with certainty that the spleen is back to normal. From what I heard , there’s no iron clad test for that. But correct me if I’m wrong.
Mono sucks...cannot imagine that recovery for an NFL athlete Â
...I remember feeling wiped out for months after. Would love to know how NYJ doctors and trainers helped him keep weight and agility through this. Maybe while wearing HAZMAT suits, too...
Hope he stays upright and torches the 'Boys.
From hearing doctors speak on this one bad hit, esp spleen wise, could be very, very bad. Even if feeling well enough
I doubt they would rush him back. Gase is in his first season and isn't under pressure of being fired. Rushing Darnold back in a lost season and risking his long term health is idiotic. Even the Jets aren't that foolish.
Whenever there was a thread with any connection to the Jets fanofthejets would always arrive to comment at how great the Jets were.
Fanofthejets is your normal Jets fan. All talk at the beginning, but by game 5 they disappear back into the woodwork and you don't hear from them until next preseason.

Correct, we won't hear from him until Darnold has a big game against the Dolphins. He will return to tell us how the Jets would be in the SB if Darnold was healthy all year. He will disappear again when the Jets get skullfucked by teams with winning records only to return in the offseason when the Jets give AJ Green a 5 year 90 million dollar contract.
Absolutely made everyone around him better today. This his first action back after missing a good deal of time...no fatigue, no lack of chemistry, no rust at all. The kid came out there and made plays. Against a defense that came into the game ranked 6th in the NFL.
Say what you will, Dallas ain't the Skins. They ain't the Bucs. They're a real team and Darnold slapped them around
for the Jets to beat the Dallas Criminals.
IMO, Darnold had a great game. Very nice throws with touch and great placement. He also avoided mistakes often done by QBs with little experience.
There was a point near the end where I began to think the refs just might hand the game over to the Criminals.

Jets played well today. Beat up Dak. Darnold was really good. That said go celebrate with fansofthejets?!?!?!

He may be a fanofthejets but theres no such thing as a fanofthejetsfans. Strange people. Smell like cabbage. Small hands.
Jets still stink. Face it, the Cowboys lost the Jets didn't win Â
The Jets could close them out, and the only thing that saved them was the bell. If that game went 5 more minutes the Jets would have lost by 10. Please note I am happy about that, but this was all on the Cowboys.

Ehhh, i dont think thats quite accurate or fair. Jets deserve credit. They managed to jump out to a sizeable lead against a much more talented team. Made some great plays on O against one of the top 6 or 7 Ds in the league. Nearly lost it but made enough plays and executed a gutsy call on the 2 pt conversion. Jets played well today.

Was this directed at me? I have many Jets fans in my family including my brother. 19 aunts and uncles, 34 first cousins. People make their own choices and I don't root against their team.
Lame insults as well.

The Jets weren't dominated only to win on a few fluke plays and bad calls. When that happens then you can say X lost, Y didn't win. The Jets beat Dallas, and frankly you should be happy

How predictable, you disappear right after the Jets lost to the Bills and haven’t posted since. Now they win and you’re back.
and the exact kind of play you worry about with him. Just a misfire at a crucial time that put the Cowboys right back in the game. Maher ended up missing a 40 yarder on that ensuing drive and if he doesn't who knows how that game goes.
Darnold has all the tools and is supposedly a great kid but mistakes like that at USC were a big part of why he didn't got 1st overall (or 2nd).

"It's not who you play it's when you play them." This has never been more evident than yesterday.

I said it on the game thread. Same exact guy he was at USC. And how do you fix that? That interception was brutal, and it wasn't a bad read, just a complete misfire from 5 yards away. Unless he finds a way to fix it his ceiling will be limited. However he's definitely a guy you can win with. The question is will he be an average QB, a good one, a great one? But the guy can definetly play.

Is this a serious post? Did you say that about eli in 2007? Before playoffs go see the back breaking picks eli had.

Brilliant point - I owe everyone an apology for my post because truthfully I never even considered how Eli Manning played in 2007 before making an observation about Sam Darnold in 2019 because I didn't see any relevant connection whatsoever. Totally forgot every discussion on BBI has to go back to Eli Manning, won't make that mistake again though.

What an idiotic post. So he can't point out another QB's deficiencies because Eli struggled early in his career? How do you know Eric didn't criticize Eli back then?

The fact that he Eli did what he did even after being labeld a bust prior to the 2007 playoffs means judging Darnold after 14 freaking games compared to Eli in his third year is dumb
Darnold on the other hand, I'd be extra cautious with due to the nature of his illness (and the Jets being all but eliminated at this point).

The Cowboys not having either starting tackle probably had more to do with it than any 'trap' aspect.
