Some tidbits

superspynyg : 10/8/2019 4:30 pm
Love might see first game action at safety Thurs. He has been practicing with the defense. Previous he was with the scout team. I think he was on ST this past weekend.

Beal says he is ready to come back and cant wait to get out there. State that he is going to let the cork loose on the first offensive player he faces. He is on IR and is not eligible to come back till after week 8.

Beal sounds like he really wants to prove his worth.

if posted I will delete.
Thanks.

Beal had better be careful popping the cork so he doesn't hurt himself.
Good stuff. Thanks. I've been waiting to see what Love can do at

free safety.
I wish Beal could play the slot.....

Haley is the worst!
Getting Beal back is important for the future

Even if it's only practice time they can at least get some decent info whether he can possibly be Jackrabbit's replacement. It's all about what players can be contributors next year and after that.
beal LOL
Justlurking : 10/8/2019 4:50 pm : link
how about he plays one snap before talking. unbelievable bust so far.
Love is going to have a bulls-eye on his jersey
Jimmy Googs : 10/8/2019 4:50 pm : link
as he goes against the savy Patriots. They will test whether he is sound or not any a multitude of play calls.

Presume Love will have a tough time but I have seen enough of Bethea to know he provides no "get off the field" type plays for this defense.

Get the youngsters in there...
Beal is huge
Lines of Scrimmage : 10/8/2019 4:58 pm : link
The coaches I think REALLY like him. Hoping the Giants sort out the D backfield this year and then draft and FA acquistion for ILB and edge next year.

I think DG is hoping for this and why he drafted the way he did this past year.
at this point my mantra for the secondary is...

No Haley for you!
Love HAS to be better than Bethea...
Dnew15 : 10/8/2019 5:15 pm : link
right?

I wonder if they play Love at FS, Bethea at SS and Peppers at LB more this week?

Or maybe the LBs are back and they play more 3 safety looks.
I think Beal s availability

Is why Gettleman trades Jenkins before trade deadline.

Agree or disagree?

I doubt that, Jenkins is a solid corner.

Agree. Jenkins is going to get dealt.
you're going to trade
fkap : 10/8/2019 9:34 pm : link
a solid corner, thereby weakening an already crappy defense in the hope that a guy who has barely practiced in his pro career is the answer?

Jenkins is in the last year of his contract, playing on a rebuilding team that has drafted 3 CBs in the last 15 months. Of course he is getting traded. The Giants need to pile up the draft picks so they can build a young, solid core of players.
Jenkins contract runs through
fkap : 10/8/2019 9:56 pm : link
next year.

IMO, it would be foolish to trade away positive portions of your team before the replacements are proven to some extent.

I'll believe Beal plays when he suits up
Greg from LI : 10/8/2019 9:57 pm : link
Been hearing this stuff about how he's raring to get on the field for over a year now.
...
christian : 10/8/2019 10:54 pm : link
Jenkins has given up 105, 184, and 83 yards in games this year.

It's crazy how hit or miss he is.
Let's see if Beal can get through one padded practice...

It's very hard for me to understand paying Jenkins 15M dollars a year with the way he's played for the last 2 years.

Agree, I've been thinking that since the preseason. I thought it would be close to the trade deadline, right around the time I thought the Giants would make the switch to Jones at QB, but that came on quicker than we all thought.

On a short week, we probably go with what we had but then we have a longer week. I would like to see Ballantine come in next week and play corner while Jack Rabbit moves inside replacing Haley. Love starts to get more time with the hope of seeing him start by Week 10.

Jack Rabbit has been bad but not as bad as Haley. IF Ballantine shows he can handle corner duties in the nick, then maybe we trade Jenkins. Hopefully Beal would be able to come back and play the nickle at that point.

Thanks for the info!
ryanmkeane : 10/9/2019 8:56 am : link
Beal seems like one of those "coaches love him and he really flashes in practice" kinda guys that will never be heard from on gameday.
what is the source of this info

out of "solid" corner range.

He had a great game against Wash - but he hasn't looked good against anyone else.

has he even had the opportunity to flash in practice?
I think trading Jenkins makes sense
arniefez : 10/9/2019 10:30 am : link
since he's probably going to be cut before next year anyway.

3.5M in dead money if cut before 6/1. 11.2M cap savings.

Ogletree is untradable but hopefully he'll be cut too.

3.5M in dead money. 8.2M in cap savings.

Jenkins has been every bit as bad as Haley. And Jenkins is supposedly the no. 1 corner and getting paid 14M more dollars.

He's been picked on in 3/5 of games.

Current Jenkins is nowhere near the guy who had a fantastic year in 2016.

I doubt that, Jenkins is a solid corner.

If our record is 2-6, trade him.
