Good morning Fellas,
I was hoping for some feedback regarding a trade I was thinking of making. My team miraculously is 3-2 despite being the second lowest scorer in my league. I would like to upgrade my QB position.
I started the year with Cam Newton, and we all know how that turned out. I picked up Matt Stafford, and he's been pretty good. Just not great. Would you make this trade offer:
Tom Brady for DeAndre Hopkins
Hopkins has been under performing for me for much of the year. So I would be relying on his reputation as a 1st round pick with upside to pull off this move. The guy who has Brady, also has Dak Prescott, so he can afford to give up the GOAT. What do you think? Am I overpaying? Should I stick with Stafford and hope Hopkins rediscovers his awesome ways? I have Tyreek Hill and DJ Chark, so my team could start racking up the points in the near future making this move moot.
Any feedback is appreciated.
But I think that's a bad move for you. Right now, Hopkins is facing a tremendous amount of coverage. But after Will Fuller puts what he did on tape last weekend, I think you will see teams start to ease up ever so slightly on Hopkins.
I think you are good with Stafford. Check out Minshew and Brissett if they are available, and just play matchups. Try to look at the next 4 or 5 weeks of the schedule and see how they look for those guys.
If you were going to trade Hopkins, even now, the ask should be for a Russell Wilson at minimum, maybe Deshaun Watson.
I'd offer a lesser WR maybe, but I'd explore alternative avenues to upgrade the QB spot before I dealt Hopkins for one. I think he's got some monster weeks on the horizon. He's generally one of the most consistent target hogs in the league and has a pretty high floor. He should be a top 5 WR the rest of the way.
Yeah, I hope things go exactly as you described. With Fuller going off like he did, things could lighten up on Hopkins with coverages not being so focused on him alone. It has been a frustrating season with my team being allergic to TDs. I have had high expectations with Hopkins, and he has been coming up short a lot.
I did make another offer with another team. Goff for Lockett. They turned it down because Goff is keepable and Lockett is not. His other QB is Murray, and he doesn't want to go it alone with just him. I could add Stafford, I guess, and see if that helps. I doubt it though. He requested Hill for Goff. I told him no.
Hardy Hardy HAR!!! So funny. :-p
I don't know if you should take my advise as my decision making has been called into question, but I think it would be wise to hold onto Wilson a little longer. After that last game, Jackson didn't do too well. I would be concerned that the league has figured him out.
Funny you should mention that. I have Carson too. I was tempted to shop him around. As of right now, I'm glad I didn't. Hopefully things turn around for you.
I have Kittle but I can add Everett for nothing right now as a little insurance. I'd probably have to drop Sanders, though. I could drop Robby Anderson but I think his production will jump with Darnold back.
If Howard goes down, you figure Sanders would be immediately startable as a RB2, but as it is now, he's really not usable even as a flex. The production just isn't there.

As a Sanders owner I'm actually optimistic because it's become a 2 man backfield and Sproles is now hurt. They are using Sanders as the passing game back more & more. He can definitely be an RB2/flex in PPR if it continues.

Any other Miles Sanders owners? Hanging onto him?

Yeah, I feel like he's one of those guys I just have to ride it out with the first half of the season and will be a lot more valuable late in the year... I probably shouldn't drop him.
Even when I drafted him, I did it knowing I was probably not going to be able to use him early in the year and that it would take time for his role to grow more.
I don't really need Anderson. My other WR's are...
Hopkins
Kupp
Samuel
Gallup
Westbrook
I guess I feel like... I've carried Anderson this long, I'm going to drop him now that Darnold is finally back? I may as well just hang onto him.
I don't NEED Everett since I have Kittle and would never start Everett over him, but the insurance is there and I have no other TE on my roster. As long as Kittle doesn't get hurt, I guess I can just sit tight.
See Robbie, I do occasionally make good decisions!!
My other RB is Ekeler so I would have to start both Gordon and Ekeler since I would be losing Freeman in the deal.
Any thoughts?

I just picked up Everett myself. I had Engram, so getting Everett was smart. I'm not sure cutting loose Sanders is wise though. Yes, Howard appears to be the primary starter for now, but knowing the Eagles, that could change quickly. I have a feeling if you cut loose Sanders, someone will snap him up right away. I get your reservations about letting Anderson go. I'm in the same boat. I've been holding onto him, waiting for Darnold to get over mono. Still, is he really worth it at this point? That offense has been a mess primarily because the line stinks. If you feel strongly about Everett's worth, perhaps you should drop Anderson? Who's your other WR's? Maybe Anderson isn't as valuable?
Same here. As an EE owner, I picked up Herndon to fill the weekly gap. Herndon doesn't look like he will play much, if at all on Sunday. So, I picked up Everett to stop the bleeding at the position....
