reason 1 -- the Patriots elect to forfeit the game
reason 2 -- an atom bomb hits the Patriot training facility and nukes all the Patriots staff, players and coaches
reason 3 -- the Giant swap the Chiefs personnel and players with their personnel and players for the day
reason 4 -- BB shows the team film of the 2007 and 2011 Superbowls and the entire team gets psyched out and needs an emotional day off on Thursday
and reason 5 -- the kid with the time travel machine in that ad on TV brings his science project to Gillette Stadium on Thursday evening and the entire Patriot Team is transported to the Palezoic Era
other than that -- the guy who wrote the article is dreaming as much as the above scenarios
I really wish thursday nights game was going to be a good one. I have off Friday and would love to throw back a few adult beverages and be entertained by a Pats/Giants close matchup.
but not much stranger. I'm more interested in the AZ game than tomorrow night. Everyone expects them to lose tomorrow and they'll probably be correct. If they lose to AZ at home 10 days later the Shurmur watch begins.
While the defeatist attitude prevalent on this board is understandable, and probably an objective way to look at this game, it is rather annoying.
Glad I m not there, These are great athletes playing this game, all of them,
It s not like it Clemson playing Delaware St.
It's not defeatist -- I just think it's unrealistic to believe, with 4 premium starters out and a rookie QB against a top notch Defense, and an all time great QB vs a suspect defense, that the Giants can beat them -- so sue me

People confuse realism - which you are exhibiting - vs. pessimism. The Giants winning this game would be an upset of monumental proportions. It's the same people who thought this team was a 10-6 team to start the season that take offense to that. Too bad for them.
I thought it was a tough game for three reasons: one, short week; two, away game, in NE, always a tough place to win; three, talent gap between the two teams.
Fast forward to today- still a short week, still in NE and the talent gap is, well a lot wider now that Engram, Barkley, Shepherd and Gallman all will not play. Not to mention the loss of Connelly, who was playing well.
Yes, I am not at all confident we have the horses to even keep it close. Throw in a monsoon and it makes matters worse.

While this game is a long shot at best I have to say I understand the comment about defeatist attitudes. Hell, there were a number of posters that berated those that dared show optimism or excitement after the 2 victories.
Being a fan is supposed to be fun. Giants fans in particular seem bound and determined to make fandom a torturous undertaking. Even in good times there is a segment of the fanbase that will call success luck.
So yes, defeatist attitudes are a Giant fan thing and it becomes annoying after a while.
RE: yeah - here's the impossible 5 reasons the Giants win

reason 2 -- an atom bomb hits the Patriot training facility and nukes all the Patriots staff, players and coaches

you guys need a lay off the drugs for a little while. They are either going to get killed or if they play lights out and it might be close, but they just won't have the talent to pull off a win.
And that article is just click bait.
Stop messaging.

That ain't happening.

Our offense is decimated right now. We have a rookie QB and an OL that looks to be regressing.
And the game is on the road. Where our Swiss Cheese D looks even worse...
