I have Zero idea because I didn’t see him make one play, in fact he is always behind the play and is not sticking his nose in there either. How is a Safety always tailing the play?!

Mentality is huge and we play not to lose and our coach emotionally reacts too much when it comes to challenge or not challenge.. Pat Shurmur does NOT inspire.
to 14 -- with zero chance to win it whatsoever. Whereas 4 minutes ago, we had a small chance to tie or win it if only we could find a way to make 2 yards.

total amateur hour by Shurmur. If they get the hold on 3rd down, you’re still outside 2 minutes and you call the timeout then. Calling it before 3rd down was just plain dumb. Not the first time Shurmur has botched clock management.
Has Shurmur ever called a timeout that wasn't embarrassing?
That was an awful decision. The sequence that led to the Hilliman fumble was just as bad. Team played hard and they were in it halfway through the 4th, so there's that but this was a horrible quarter by Shurmur.
If I was Mara I would think about firing this clown tomorrow. It is clearly evident he is a losing coach. Promote Betcher and reevaluate in the offseason.
RE: RE: I’ll never understand how Brady only throws Â
To guys who are wide open yet a guy Jones can’t get a receiver one yard open
You don't understand much. Is it difficult to understand that we have no running game?
aand our WRs would be 4th and 5th receivers on other teams, they suck. Edelman is open every play. The only guy we have who seems to get separation is Slayton, but he is a raw rookie. Separaton is the job of a WR, they can all catch
It was a Giants team missing a number of starters Â
that wasn't very good to begin with, starting a rookie QB in his 4th game, against Belichick at home.
We got half a game of entertaining football out of it, probably a half more than I would have expected.
The bigger concern is that once again, another Giants season will likely be dead before October is out. Even without the injuries and rookie QB, the roster isn't very good and the coaching staff is no great shakes. Mediocrity would be the ceiling at this point.
its a great way to let your team know you don’t fully believe in them to get 2 freakin yards and try to somehow win this hard fought game. Nah just punt it and go down quietly
whatever...
This is why Jones shouldn't "give Shurmur one more year". The quality of the roster doesn't matter when the fucking coaching staff is incompetent.
They won’t even give Love a chance. He should be playing. They aren’t a playoff team
"We're getting better. That's the goal." - Shurmur, at the podium tonight
Have the Giants ever had a head coach who was so proud of losing as Shurmur is?

are among the league leaders in going for it on 4th down. You guys make it sound like he's trying to lose.
We were at our own 28. That's not a clear cut call.
4th & 2. Come on FMiC, you’re smarter than this. If the idea was to win the game, you 1000% go for it there.
Of course NE drives it right down the field.
AWFUL decision.
Especially with the defense gassed. Double the possession time or close to it.

He doesn't *only* throw, but he sure does get a lot of open looks, and for most of his career from WRs that wouldn't amount to jack shit elsewhere.
Of course, you know who to thank for that...

Please preserve this post. Speaks volumes.
I'm not confident he's a good coach.
But outside of that punt decision, this isn't on him. The bitching about the playcalling is terrible.

Nicely put +1

Sorry, it bothers me.

His entire career Brady has guys wide open.
Picking up 2 yards is always going to be easier.
By punting it, you are hoping you can get a 3 and out and then score 2 TD's in 5 and a half minutes without any timeouts left.
If you don't get a 3 and out, it's now 2 TD's in under 3.5 minutes without any timeouts...
Not to mention, onside kicks are virtually impossible with the new kickoff rule.
Punting there was conceding the game.

You are comparing a rookie in his 4th game to the greatest QB of all time. He had better WRs than Golden Tate too
QB learned. Shorthanded. They were in the game into the end of the third.
What a fucking joke. Pathetic.
