I don’t want to hear the injuries excuse. You play to win the game. This guy is absolutely terrible. His play calling is mind boggling. The fact that some of you people believe he’s the best person for team is scary.
And on Gettleman for actually thinking Hilliman could play meaningful snaps
the fuck else were they supposed to do/call?
3rd string RB, 1 healthy WR worth a shit.
Seriously.
How about going for it on fourth down? How about not putting Rhett fucking Ellison on an island? How about throwing more shots at Slayton downfield? How about getting away from the screen passes to a completely useless RB?
you realize they are playing in 25 mph winds and against the best secondary in the nfl? kind of hard to throw downfield
Our only playmaker right now on offense with a Rookie QB.
Pat Shurmur coaches a stalemate until the 4tjh quarter and I’ve didn’t coach his players up for a game we all thought was going to be blood bath from the first snap.
This is not a Pat Shurmur problem.
Bullshit it was 14-14 with 3 mins left in the 2nd quarter. This wasn’t a bloodbath. It turned into a massacre once Shurmur realized we were playing a football game. But I look forward to his post game of him saying we played a great game
Classic BBI veterans bitching like always that only certain threads can be made. Probably the same idiots who tell people to sit down at sporting events
and I think you have every right to create a thread like this. But 1) I disagree with you and I have every right to say so, and 2) other guys have a right to disagree with you, too.
To rebuild and oh btw were missing Barkley, Gallman, Engram and Shep. You knuckleheads really expect them to sign a RB Monday who could have helped? This team played hard and stayed competitive. Jones is ready to win some games. Had an off night in tough winds but kept the team in it. Defense made some plays but ran out of gas.
This franchise is on the right track. Some of you have no patience and no clue
yet to hear anyone place any blame on Daniel Jones. Obviously the expectations we have for a rookie QB aren't high . . . but he was pretty bad tonight.

Haven't made up my mind on Shurmur yet. Not backing him, not blaming him. But "This game is on Pat Shurmur"???
That’s correct Dane thanks for agreeing. But seriously 21-14 at halftime and this team came out flat in the 2nd half. Offensive plays have been extremely plain and cautious with DJ. Eli did more bootlegs in 2 games than DJ has done in 3 games. Let the kid do what he does best. Take the training wheels off
completely agree. sad some in this thread are giving credit because the team hasnt quit? wtf is that the standard now? just mind numbing.
Like I said a lot of people on this thread and board are use to losing. We are a losing team so they are okay with the results. They are okay with the product that Shurmur and Dave G offer us.
not like the screen pass call late in the game which had no chance of success and punting in the 4th on 4th and 2. The team played hard and made too many mistakes. Need to see a win next game to feel that anything was gained by tonight's effort.

in New England against the greatest HC and, arguably, the greatest QB with a rookie QB...and the focus is on Shurmur.
Brilliant.
This is the guy who is use to losing. You’re saying we were losing this game before we played it. The patriots offense didn’t play great tonight. The giants were in this game and down by 7 in the 4th quarter. Stop with the we were in NE bullshit. We had a chance to win this game and we didn’t
He is an offensive coordinator who is head coach. He is always attempting to react to the game. He is never ahead of the game. Another John Mara dud of a head coach.

Actually, the Patriots haven't really played great offense all year. They have been decimated by key OL injuries from the start of the year. But that would presume you watch games, follow the rest of the league, and, more importantly, understand the game.
And a lot of teams have chances to beat the Patriots. But they don't either. And a lot of those teams are healthier than us and have better coaching.
Does a different coach come away with a win tonight? If that answer is no - and it damn well should be, then how do you put the blame on Shurmur for the loss?

So tell me. Do you believe in Santa Claus, too?
Easter Bunny, Santa and the leprechaun. Keep making excuses BW you’re a loser so I can see why.
I think the Shurm is a basically mediocre head coach. Â
The decision to retain him in 2020 should have absolutely nothing to do with him and his record. It should depend on whether there is an alternative outside the organization that could be a leading NFL coach.
I know Mara won’t look at it that way. But he should.
Does a different coach come away with a win tonight? If that answer is no - and it damn well should be, then how do you put the blame on Shurmur for the loss?
Yes Sean McVay, Pete Carroll, Andy Reid and Sean Payton come away with wins. Reverse coach’s Bill and Shurmur giants win this game. So yes a different coach would win this game tonight.
Andy Reid wins this game with a banged up roster, but can't win a playoff game with a stacked one.
Try again, Ace.
Andy Reid is a regular season coach and we all know it. I like how you had no answers for the other 4 guys. A smart NFL Coach will find a way to win this game. He will call the game around a rookie QB and find a way to win

Not going for it on 4 and 2 was so stupid. Defense was on the field for 40 min and was starting to bend hard.
I do like how the team plays hard for him though.

Nonsense. The offense was driving until Jones threw that INT. They weren't flat.
What team has a good 3rd team RB? We battled, thats all you could ask.

Brilliant.
After he gets canned by the Giants, he will likely go back to be an OC and have some good years.
Giants were not winning this game regardless tonight. But Shurmur's use of timeouts just showed he can't think quickly on his feet.

fucking idiot
Thanks for your great wisdom.
I tend to agree but I don’t think he’s that bad. Definitely below average.
Too many head scratching calls offensively. I don’t think they ever tried to attack the middle of the field.
Didn’t like a bunch of in game decisions. Defense wasn’t perfect but showed up.
Blocked punt, Hilliman's fumble, Jenkins falling alseep on the last long pass to Edelman.
No Barkley, Shepard, or Engram and they were in the hgame until the 4th quarter.

Another poster who is use to losing. Blaming this on injuries.
I think the team has to show progress for him to stay.
He might have to win 7 games to stay. Maybe 6 if the team is competitive in the losses. Anything less than that and he is very likely gone.
Classic post that brings no insight. Loser
Yes, but all 38 losses were on the players.
Didn't you read the brilliant post about coaches don't tackle, coches don't throw interceptions?
So Shurmur is really 17-0.
