Listen I know Mayo is coming off a good game but if he is one of our starting MLB next year then our off season was a failure.He is a journeymen. Nice backup but not a starter.

First, Mayo is a nice find. Sometimes, players need to be in the right system to blossom. At Carolina, they brought him in to play WOLB, as they auditioned several to play that role during Thomas Davis injury/PED issues. SF signed him to a 2-year deal, but decided to go with Fred Werner & Mark Nzeobe. Werner? Is rated 47th statistically among LBs currently. Mayo? 7th. Whether he starts next year when Connelly returns? I say both start & Ogleteee is elsewhere.

Look at it this way- if the guy is producing, keep him in there. If not? Next man up. That's probably why Goodson is struggling for PT in GB.

Look at Mayo this way. You go to a flea market, see something you like. How much? A buck. You get home & find out its worth 10. Do you sell it, or reap the profits? Mayo cost the Giants nothing & is now producing at a high level. You gonna argue with success?

Vasher and I want him in Giants blue badly. But one guy I can't help but be impressed with is Texas Tech LB Jordyn Brooks. He is ALWAYS around the ball and he has excellent athleticism to run stride-for-stride with TEs and RBs out of the backfield.

since 2017. Starting Mayo & Connelly at ILB next year will keep that roll going strong in 2020. Neither of them would start for any other NFL team let alone both of them. It's like some of you have never watched another NFL game besides the Giants.

Mayo should not start, but Connelly impressed me. I'd bring in competition, but I wouldn't dismiss him as our starting ILB in 2020.

but not as a starter. He's been a pleasant surprise at ILB but the Giants need someone better. He should be a backup and ST player.

I hope they use a day two pick on an ILB. If they don't sign anyone in free agency I wouldn't be opposed to them using a day 3 pick on an ILB also. Connelly deserves to start next season but he is coming off a serious injury. Having extra insurance is never a bad idea.

Connelly, Carter and Mayo have the potential to be good starters for us. They need to add one stud to this unit to shift the balance to the plus column as a unit.

Both inside LB and free safety. Two free safeties with big time wheels.

That's a pool of 3 that could go 1,2,3 in any order .

Edge is nice too but it's not utterly missing like fs.

Also edge is a hyped position so you want to be very sure it's a great one .

Inside lb -or edge- no sense adding a decent one..you need a great one that does pass D.

FS you need a great one AND a speedy prospect one.

3. Fast fs
4. Big two way TE
5. Center / Guard project
6. O Tackle project
7. RB

Taught us something . He's nifty but that's one and it's a legit injury.

You need a knowledgeable savvy ...and very speedy ilb in the mix and that means early rounds.

With free safety - having two burners would radically change the nature of this team- possibly more than any position. Especially if at least one is a ball hawk.
