...has there been an overall improvement?
Having Daniel Jones is clearly a positive development, and a few new defensive players.
And the Giants are 2-4, whereas last season they were 1-5.
What is NOT encouraging is how many points we've scored this season and how many we've let up:
Points For
2019: 111
2018: 117
Points Against
2019: 160
2018: 162
Point Differential:
2019: -49
2018: -45
For certain one can torture stats a dozen ways to Sunday to make a pre-conceived narrative/point. But overall, I'm not sure which direction this team is headed. Maybe the next 10 games will provide some sort of answer.
While last year’s team did improve from September through December I feel like this year’s team is truly moving onward with a bunch of players that will be here long term. Outside of about 8-10 guys, last year’s team wasn’t there yet. Now you have those same 8-10 plus another 10.
The next two months are important but we are seeing growth early on.
Either way, there has been no vast improvement. It seems as though this team is really no better than the team last year.
I think it’s pretty clear the Giants are a better team this year. Getting even just half our injuries players on offense back will be huge. I don’t know what anyone realistically expects when you have your top 3 playmakers all out with a rookie QB under center.
Then they need to win one of the tougher remaining six games
To me, five more wins should be the goal. That would be encouraging.
Defense I think is better or at least oj the rise.
we were healthy beginning of last year. the team is CLEARLY better. we are young and developing.
On D, although the pass rush is improving, I don't see an overall improved D. I am starting to really question Bettcher.
The offense missing their best RB, WR and TE presents huge problems (for any team).
They'll still find a way to be 6-10.

If you can't see the improvement on the roster, then I don't know what to tell you.
Saqoun's best game was against the cowboys and look how that turned out. You aren't going to do much running with a defense like this. Even in a game everyone is talking how good the d played; they still could not tackle. How many short passes became first downs or big gains for the pats because of bad tackling. Bad tackling in a pro league not college. Holy!

Yup
OK.
But....
until the improvement is an actuality, this is a bad team.

If you look at that way, sure. But you’re not looking at things with a clean lens.
2- Last years Giants were scoring alot of points in the 4th quarter after teams had called off the dogs. Not this year
As I said it will be interested to see growth of individuals and of course the team after the bye. Coaches have guys playing hard which counts, wish they were playing smarter.
This is not a playoff year and anyone who thought that was smoking or drinking powerful stuff. However it is a year to watch growth. Hopefully it will come.

Is that your excuse . You won without Tate. You had him for both your losses. RB is not really an important position. This assumes you don’t cut you ld one time starting back and not have a third string back which was said dude....
There really lies the problem with this football team. You have a gm who is like your drunk uncle at thanksgiving dinner giving his football opinions and in like a strange twilight zone freak phenomenon it actually affects personnel decision on a pro football team. This clown has cut or traded all the talent this team had to keep Eli and then reach for a pick which no one thought was anything special only to be in like an greenbay Rogers situation.... like what? It’s like this guy is going around without a brain in his freakin head.
