NGT: Dallas fans blaming Garrett, but ...

Beezer : 10/13/2019 11:33 pm
A handful of Cowboys fans that I am acquainted with through Facebook or just going off on Garrett and think he should be fired this week. I suppose I understand the thought that the guy at the helm gets that treatment, but it seems like these folks - every year - flap their jaws when that team is winning, but when they don’t? Fire Garrett!

I thought the Jets played their best game of the season. Darnold looked terrific, Bell did his thing in spots, the O-line played well enough, and the Jets defense had a decent plan and held on.

All in all, I couldn’t be more happy to see Cowboys fans melting down. It would be nice one time to hear some of these idiots just give credit where it’s due.

trotting out the I want them to lose so they will fire Garrett going back to last season. He always wasn't watching when they lose too.
Cowboys lose to a winless team, Eagles get humiliated...

...the week definitely ended on a high note!
I'll say this...
bw in dc : 10/14/2019 12:24 am : link
that TO he took on that last TD drive was moronic. Keeping it would have allowed them to kick off deep, use all 3 TOs, and maybe get the ball back with 30-33 seconds left with decent field position and only needing a FG...
94 on the Jets played a good game

From what I saw the main problem was their much vaunted

They played without their two pro bowl tackles. And Cooper went down with a quad injury. Huge losses.
Losing to the winless Jets looks pretty bad for

the Super Bowl Favorite Cowboys. LOL

What a Great day yesterday.
Cowboys get embarrassed
Eagles get embarrassed
and Skins barely beat the high school dolphins team. I certainly wanted skins to win, don't want them getting first pick. Couldn't have happened in a better way.

And the icing on the cake - Cleveland loses yet again.
I hope Garrett gets a lifetime

that the Cowboys - as much as I hate them - got hosed by the refs yesterday.

Collins has never made an pro bowl or all-pro team.

Cowboys do have a lot of injures
DavidinBMNY : 10/14/2019 7:56 am : link
And so do we and many other teams. No one feels sorry for them.

And the Cowboys/Eagles match up is going to have the Cowboys thin at WR with Eagles crappy / banged up secondary.

No team in the NFC East looks strong right now.

49ers and Saints are the teams to beat. Vikings are getting their grove on as well - they have a strong team across the board. Everyone else is just OK at best.

For us - it comes down to can our team beat other mediocre teams.

look pedestrian with an average OL. Go figure!

I've said that the best thing for us last season was having the Cowboys win by default. It allows Jerrah to keep Garrett and resign Zeke and Dak.
The drive at the end with all of the penalties was tough to watch.

Hard to think of an apt comparison, but an exaggerated comparison would be Cam. He does shrug off hits and gets back up. Give the man his 400 million contract Jerry.

BS PI call, then like 10 flags to make up for the previous bad call. Definitely altered the end of the game.
There are two Cowboys fans in my life

Both of them have wanted Garrett fired for years.

johnnyb : 10/14/2019 8:35 am : link
of his contract. A lame duck. Would not be surprised if he does not return as Cowboy coach but doubt very much he is fired mid-season. Too disruptive a move for a team that has playoff potential despite yesterday's loss.
I hate the Dallas Cowboys...
M.S. : 10/14/2019 8:45 am : link

...but what good is the schadenfreude when they outclass the Giants in every phase of the game, and continually kick the living shit out of us whenever we go up against them?
I do not expect Garrett back

Jerry gave him a chance to win and it isn’t going to happen. Their OC will be promoted to HC for 2020

Saints claimed they figured out his hand signals from his days at Boise State.

I for one am hopeful that changes in the near future. If and when it does, I would like the games against them to have meaning for the playoffs.

Yesterday’s losses by the Eagles and the Cowboys was a step in the direction of the latter.

He has been very good the in second half of games. I just think yesterday was one of those games where they went up against a very inspired football team at home. Dallas will be in full panic mode if they lose to the Eagles. Lucky bastards have their bye at the perfect time for them and right before us to boot. Kind of rooting for them to win next week.
I have always thought
Glover : 10/14/2019 9:06 am : link
Garrett was a very average coach. If he had a good team, they won, when they didn't have a good team, they didn't win. He is not the kind of coach that is going to make a big difference in either motivation or preparation, and the Cowboys have been good a few times since he has been HC, but they could never get over the hump and make it to a Superbowl. He and Dak are very similar, good, but not great.
Part of me wants them to fire Garrett at season's end
Jay on the Island : 10/14/2019 9:07 am : link
that would mean that Rod Marinelli and Kris Richard were free agents. The Giants would be foolish not to try to bring either of them in to replace Bettcher. Marinelli has done a masterful job in Dallas.

Doesnt watch them and wants them to lose...great fan.
COwboys were awful the first 2/3 of that game
PatersonPlank : 10/14/2019 9:34 am : link
Then tehy woke up and should have won anyway. If they get the 2 pointer they win (the Jets weren't stopping them at the end), if the kicker hits a 39 yard FG they win, if they went for the short FG in the 1st half they win.

This was a Cowboy loss a lot more than it was a Jets win. The last 1.5 quarters the score was 20-3 and that includes a missed Cowboy chip shot FG and 2 pt conversion.
Its not Kellen Moore
ChicagoMarty : 10/14/2019 9:41 am : link
Garrett still runs the show.

Note yesterday how Romo was still calling out the likely plays based on what part of the field and what formation they were in.

Romo could not do that if Garrett was not still there running old Cowboy plays

You this happen frequently where the HC basically puts all his eggs in that one basket when he uses that critical TO before that critical play-call. You’d think the HC would have the play lined up already and would save the TO there.

Any chance the giants could win this division by default? I’m all for it!
The Cowboys are starting to tune out Garrett which is what happens

when you have been there a decade and haven't won anything other than the NFC East. There was a shot of him trying to get his offense fired up before they went out there and they looked like they could give less of a shit.

Garrett may still be running the show, but Romo does that for every game he announces.

Tanney has been compared to Garrett often on bbi. Great we are using a roster spot to groom him. Much forward thinking.
