While I was watching my Hurricanes beat Virginia a couple of nights ago (that was for you, Greg), I couldn't help but notice this basketball player playing linebacker for the Hoos. He was rangy, fast, athletic, instinctive. SO I looked him up.
Geez, what an interesting kid. He's 6'7, 235 lbs, which is taller and lighter than Brian Burns was (who I was a big fan of coming out of Florida State). But this Snowden kid is such a well-rounded player. He played EDGE a bit against Miami, but I saw dropping into coverage quite a bit also and he seemed to cover really well. He's also surprisingly spry with sideline-to-sideline speed.
He's just a really interesting prospect. I guess he projects to EDGE/DE and he definitely needs to bulk up, but I could see him being one of those versatile JOKER players because he does not look at all out of place standing up and running with TEs and RBs.
On a different note, it was horrible what happened to Bryce Hall. Kid was a legit upper first round prospect.

what happened to bryce hall?
Hall would likely have been a first round pick last year. This year he was zooming up many draft lists. Now his college career is over and his NFL career could be in jeopardy.
When you have a great chance to go round one or two, leave for the NFL. The game is just too risky and unpredictable. Hopefully he took out a Lloyd’s of London type policy to cover projected future losses...

Assuming their coaches feel he will be able to play again, Gettleman should take a chance on him if he's on the board still early day 3.

Agreed. Shame. Kid is ultra-talented.
Seeing Bryce go down like that was gut-wrenching - flashbacks to what happened to the great Anthony Poindexter. He's a guy that shined from the first minute he stepped on the field as a freshman. Supremely talented and plays 100% on every snap. A real leader. Here's to a full, fast recovery.
The ILB Zane Zandier looks good too.
