Fowler knows the system and worked with Jones all through camp. It makes sense to bring him back, even if he has a low upside.
And I have a sneaking suspicion that unless the Giants find themselves in a chance to make the playoff in the final 4 games, they shut Shepard down for the year.
shut down. That second concussion happened on a play where he really didn't get crunched and more rolled over on, causing his helmet to turn sideways some. That to me screams not fully recovered from the first concussion (which these things are really hard to nail down). No need to risk career and as far as the team goes, Golden Tate basically is the same guy.

I hope they give White Jr. a shot soon also. He was very impressive in the preseason and training camp. He might have a future as a sub WR in the NFL. We already know that Fowler is a fringe player. I just hope we don't see any throws to Fowler moving forward.
And it's a small silver lining they didn't IR Sheppard. I can't see Sheppard playing for at least a month, and he really shouldn't.
My daughter's HS football friend had a concussion a few weeks back and it's still effecting him. He gets tired early, stimulus effect him a lot. And that's just 1 concussion and it's been a few weeks.
If Sheppard is back before the bye I would be really, really surprised.
Ogletree, Davis, and Connelly were all injured. They clearly felt Mayo was a better special teams player than Stupar, but injuries forced their hand. With Ogletree back and Davis hopefully close, its an easy choice to cut him.
I would also prefer to see Reggie White over Fowler. But I'm glad Â
We marked this play during the game at our house. It was embarrassing. Got pushed back about 7 yards by a RB like he wasn't even there. He's a fucking linebacker...or purports to be. Hopefully we never have to see him in our colors again. A nearly useless player.

I guess coach has seen enough of young guys not answering the call (Hilliman) so I guess he is going back to a guy at least he knows what he brings (Bennie) instead of promoting one of the PS guys.
That guy was giving maximum effort and really stood out watching the game. I was very disappointed he was cut and think he can be a good player for us and contribute on specials.

but in the preseason Alonzo Russell looked to always be on the same page as DJ. Would like to know if that chemistry could carry over into a real game.

The moves our coach and GM have made at the back end of the roster are head scratching and concerning. I too was a big proponent for Alonzo Russell and would like to see him get a shot. At the very least he looks like he would help out much more on specials than the fifth and sixth receiver positions which have already seen circulation.

The team was decimated losing their top 3 mlbs to injury the last few weeks. Do you think the Giants were happy Stupar had to get game time?
