Didn't say guarantees, but he might as well have. Wow Sunday Night Football next week is going to be awesome. This is a pretty crazy move from Pederson, I think he senses blood in the water. Link - ( New Window )
against the Eagles unless we need the Eagles to beat the Cowboys for the Giants to be in a playoff position.
The Eagles are a shitty, dirty franchise from a shitty, dirty city with shitty, dirty fans. I hate them more than any other franchise in sports, and it's not close.
I hope Dak and Zeke run all over their asses and light them up for 50.
Eagles winning would be bad for us. We than get a back against the Â
root for the Eagles since we haven't played them yet and could win tiebreakers. At best, we'll get a split against the Cowboys.
That's an interesting take and I actually think we are set up better to beat the Eagles than we have been in years at least offensively. However, I'd still rather not be getting a desperate Cowboys team getting healthy with their back against the wall. One week at a time and that game is going to have a massive effect on our season if we split the next two weeks.

This supposed "bulletin board" material really makes a difference? If Dallas can't get up to play Filthy and Filthy cannot get up to play Dallas then they deserve to lose

Of course it makes a difference.
RE: Eagles winning would be bad for us. We than get a back against the Â
wall Cowboys team getting healthy playing us coming off a bye. Not Good.
If a team wants to be taken seriously they have to eventually beat good and desperate teams. Trying to figure out a way to be relevant is what pretenders do.
I know that s not what you meant, and your pt is valid. It just reminded me of me during the 70’s trying to figure a way for the team to remain in contention without actually having to win in circumstances you d expect them to lose in.
Well considering we have the most dead cap space in the NFL Â
Anyway this team can figure out how to make the playoffs this year would be huge moving forward. And even good teams need help. Look at the Cowboys and what happened against the Jets this weekend. Played a super inspired football team that came out the gates fast that they probably didn't see coming. The margins in the NFL are super thin and it's usually a game that separates getting home field, getting a bye, making the playoffs. In 2020 we can talk about beating good teams when they are desperate, the Giants aren't there yet and won't be untill the get some more money on the field.
These two teams kick the shit out of each other and the game ends in a tie 😎
Would love to see a tie, especially because as ray in arlington has pointed out its very unlikely the Giants win a tiebreak with either Philly or Dallas if it comes down to that at end of season. Would rather just eliminate that crap altogether and just have to finish half a game better than both teams

Every so often it might, and even that’s debatable. This shit, like most manufactured shit from the media, only impacts the fans.

It absolutely does to an extent, and its not just about "getting up" for it. Football is an emotional game and every bit of added motivation and focus helps.

This and it blows my mind that people can't grasp it when you have players talking about it all the time. Football is so emotional and psychology is a massive part of performance. Oh this guy said that? Yeah well I'll show that motherfucker, it helps you practice better throughout the week and helps you play better. People only see the 3 hours on gameday, but its a lot easier to maintain complete focus during the week when you have been personally slighted.
A debate over whether it's easier to root for the Eagles over Â

I agree, i think stuff like this matters. But its usually calculated and Pederson probably sees this as a chance to get his guys back on track as well. I don't have a problem with a coach doing this. If he's wrong, who cares? No one is really going to look to a week 7 guarantee to blame for a bad season, missed playoffs, etc. Maybe a bunch of idiot fans will but that's about it.
And its just not the players, its the coaches too. Â
confident right now for whatever reason. Their secondary is putrid and confidence is probably the most important trait in a cornerback, but its hard to maintain when you are constantly getting torched.
Bad move though, IMO, he gives a struggling team in Dallas ammunition for the game.
First the Eagle LB on Cousins, now this? Philly needs to STFU and play.
Best case scenario these two teams beat each other up badly next week.

Word
This includes all sports.
The America's team thing, suffering thru the 1970's, the egotistical arrogant owner, the Southern US and on and on.
Why, we’ve been told we’ll be ready to compete only in 2020 or 2021 lousy division notwithstanding?
Dallas could be thin at WR and OL.........not sure they'll have the tools to go after Philly completely.
And Dallas, who's got a ton of talent, looking average on D too.
I'll root for Dallas but they seem to be trending in the worst direction.
Question is, does Dallas really lose 4 straight???

You get it. Fuck that entire franchise fuck em twice on Sunday. Then fuck em again on Monday. Fuck Dallas!
Fuck the Eagles.
