Who is the second best team in the AFC?

SFGFNCGiantsFan : 10/14/2019 4:36 pm
Outside of the Pats-who might as well just be given the #1 seed right now-who do you think is numero dos? I thought it was KC, but they've looked mortal these last two weeks. Still KC? Baltimore? Houston? Buffalo? Hell, Oakland? I'd probably lean Houston, but not with much conviction.
Still think it’s KC

Hardly matters, Pats have all but secured home field in the playoffs again. They can start making travel plans to Miami. Only way they miss out on yet another trip to the Super Bowls is if Brady seriously unravels, which is possible given his age. Even that might not matter.

I disagree with this. A lot can happen between now and then. I think its very feasible the Chiefs could win the AFC.

I still think it's KC but an Andy Reid team in a big spot will never get it done.

have beaten teams with combined 10-23 record. Hopefully they start losing when they face some stronger competition
Doesn't really matter

unless the Pats have significant injuries (Brady or Edelman).

2nd place in the AFC is a tallest midget contest.

Who's the best team in the NFC?

Pretty wide open this year in both conferences.

Still really early but right now I like GB, SF, SEA, and NO.
That was a HUGE win yesterday for Houston...

in KC. And Hill was in the line-up for KC.

So that should easily move them to the #2 line. They had a very tough loss opening week in New Orleans. They rallied and should have won if not for a 58 yarder by Lutz at the buzzer.

The Chiefs

They've looked mortal the last two weeks because they're severly banged up on offense. Mahomes is gimpy while playing on a sprain which makes things a hell of a lot easier to defend them, their entire left side of their OL and swing tackle have benn out and not unlike this team...they've been rotating guys in at the skill positions.

These are guys that should all come back. They just got Tyreek back, the OL should return to form once healthy, the running game will settle, Mahomes will be able to move around again and they'll go back to putting up video game numbers. If anything, the defense has taken a step forward so I expect them to be a better team in January this year than they were last.

The Pats will probably be favored in every game they play. That's not the same as them winning every game. Things aren't always chalk. Giants fans know that better than anybody.

In the NFC I think the Saints, Niners and GB are a class above. Dallas can get back there once they get their OTs back, that's a completely different offense when that OL is healthy. I think the Seahawks are kind of frauds, it's basically the Russell Wilson show and not much else. They lost to the Saints with Bridgewater on training wheels, barely got by the Bengals and Big Ben-less Steelers and did not look particularly impressive vs the Cards. The best wins have come the last two weeks but I think we all know now that the Rams and Browns aren't who many expected them to be. They've faced a low key cup cake schedule and haven't really been winning pretty.

I would say the Bills are formidable and I wouldn't count out Houston just yet. If the Colts had a QB they would be dangerous.

That roster is awesome.

With Luck I felt they were hands down the best team in the AFC. We’ll see with Brissett but they are a legitimate threat.
Right now, I think Texans and KC have looked better than the Pats,

records notwithstanding.

Bills also looking strong, with Allen throwing much better this year than last year, but I can't see them making a big comeback if they fall behind.

Lamar Jackson is fun to watch, but Baltimore's defense isn't as strong as I would have thought they would be.
Second best team in the AFC?

Agreed. They have the 4-1 Bills behind them and another game with them.
