This guy doesn’t have a big contract. I doubt they gave higher than a 3rd. Probably a 4th or lower.
I think he's suggesting that the Rams will need those inexpensive draft picks to offset the large veteran contracts they've given out.
It does seem like they're risking a very top heavy roster composition that will ultimately rely on UDFA for depth in some significant roles. If they feel confident that they can identify enough undrafted talent to pull it off, they can probably survive. Easier said than done though - there's definitely a risk there.
