Jacksonville played it smart - they made it constantly look like they wanted nothing more than to return Ramsey to the lineup, no matter how long he held out. That didn't compromise their leverage.
Of course, Ramsey's a much better player - but it easily could have turned out worse for them if there was a protracted negative campaign by their FO/ownership.
The problem is the Eagles have the biggest need and I cannot see a trade occurring between us and them when we are only 1 game out of the division lead.
They're going to be a disaster in 2-3 years cap wise. They aren't winning now. Their QB looks like shit. Their RB is hurt. Their OL is shit and they have very little young homegrown talent. Plus missing a bunch of draft picks.
RE: I’d much rather be our situation than the Rams right now Â
They blew it. Paid a running back, and paid franchise QB money to a non elite player. This is a team that should have been built around McVay and the best defensive player in the league.
This has "need star power in the new stadium" written all over it.
much for trading Jenkins to the Rams. Maybe knowing this deal would happen is part of the reason they traded Peters. They are definitely in "win now" mode. Jacksonville got a great return.
Yeah I don’t like the Rams chances even with Ramsey Â
I can see why they took a shot. They must assume they are picking in the 25-32 range each year but that’s not a guarantee. They are stuck with Goff for now though might as well go for it.
Could still easily finish third in their own division.

McVay has made some very questionable calls. I think he's extremely overrated. All last year there was poor management with wasting timeouts. It never came back to haunt him but it could have. This year I have been very confused with some decisions and play calls. He also seems like he is beating the drum for these players being brought in. This isn't an isolated move. This has been going on for awhile with guys like Suh and Peters and Talib and Cook. They are all about getting the big name players. They had a great year last year but I do think he is very overrated. I do think he is a good coach overall but not this boy wonder he's made out to be.
of paying him. Xavier Howard has set the bar at $17M/yr with $46M guaranteed. Giving up cost controlled first round picks for the next 2 years while also committing that amount to the cap is insane. Jalen is very good, but he isn't that good.
RE: Rams didn't have a first rounder this year... Â
So this deal will mean three years in a row without a first round pick.
I'm not kidding. They may want to seriously consider trading Donald...
I can't remember a time draft picks were so fluid. I think some teams are figuring out they'd rather get a bonafide stud rather than hoping the pick pans out.

I don’t think it’s star power related at all. I think the Rams made the decision to go all-in on a championship last year and this is just a continuation of that. They’re panicking looking for a quick fix on defense to get back in the division race.
Dante and Talib. They have to accommodate Jalen's new deal. Whitworth will be a FA and will likely retire. Not sure who they have in the pipeline to protect Goff's blindside.
RE: Rams haven't had a 1st round pick since 2016 Â
The Goff contract is destroying their judgment. Not only would they have been better off trading him; they would have been better off letting him walk and getting a comp pick.
We've got to remember this when we're saying ridiculous things about Jones being the QB for the next 10-15 years. There are lessons to be learned here.
Goff contract is going to kill them, Darnold and Ramsey are worth Â
their contracts. He's an average QB and you can afford to overpay him a bit if you have cheap talent, how you going to do that with no first rounders. Goff isn't good enough to overcome a poor offensive line and that is what he will be playing behind unless they find some gems late.
Talib is old, but Dante will be interesting, spotrac has his value Â
at 10 million which seems like it would be a prudent signing.
Especially, considering that Yannick will likely stay in Jax. My pipe-dream that he would shake free was built on the premise that Jax would have to pay Ramsey.
Have a lot of top talent. But their future doesn’t look great. Lost their first round picks, don’t have many young studs on cheap deals, and Gurley and Goff look like poor long term investments. Also, Ramsey is gonna get paid
It really depends on what we do with Golden, but he's probably looking Â
for the highest bidder, he hasn't made all that much in his career.
If he continues his play, I hope we can lock him up. I don’t think of him as the guy to lead a pass rusher, but he could be the perfect running mate for an elite pass rusher
RE: The Rams probably have this year, next and maybe the year Â
Just not Apple.
Peters for Jalen...definitely an upgrade. Gotta hope a payday and living in LA vs Jax is a plus for Ramsey which hopefully limits the drama.

Most the reason Ramsey was a pain in the ass was playing in a nowheresville market, he wants to be like his idol deion.

Here or there, means nothing with the Rams.
Maybe the new stadium might yield a 7% bump in Ram fan attendance.

Totally in the Rams MO to make such a move.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Seems like it.

How is that a steep price? He’s one of the league’s premier talents at CB. If those picks are in the 20’s it’s a great deal for the Rams.

Wow
Wow
2022 or 2023?

As I said above, they need to unload Donald.

makes sense in a matter of fact way, but usually the personality of a drama queen doesn't just disappear, unless it was just a calculated act.
